Lauryn Hill is a black, female solo artist who used to be in a black rap outfit called The Fugees.... Massive Attack are VERY MUCH "Black" Music (a mix of rap, blues, reggae, dub, etc...), at this time you had 3D, Mushroom and Daddy G as the core members, two out of that three were black geezers, "Chef" is Isaac Hayes, a black soul singer.... I fail to see how they cant be described as "black" acts....

but 4 acts out of 45 is very deficient in 'black music', ok mr and mr picky, possibly not totally devoid but its pretty obvious what i meant <_<

You were the one who said "there's a total lack of black music" in your post though, dont pick on me or Osker for taking you up on the fact..... <_< You made an innaccurate statement... If you'd said "almost total lack of black music", well, different story innit.....

Besides, most of the rest of it is certainly influenced by Black music styles as well, pretty much all forms of Dance music is based on black music styles, "rock" is based on the Blues, etc.....

So, in reality, there's a very large presence of "Black" music styles in your list, even if it is via second or third hand influences.....

oh ffs..... <_<

Great, very well thought out response mate, you really 'owned' me and Osker with that articulate riposte which would do Will Self and Russell Brand proud......

Heh - and I was going to make a reference as to how many would qualify for a MOBO and why the MOBOs aren't considered racist when there isn't a MOWO awards ceremony. Personally, I have no problem with there being a MOBO ceremony, but I love the way it makes a mockery of Political Correctness.
