Only 3 new entries and I thought Sander Van doorn with Robbie Williams will enter higher but Close My Eyes still can climb in the future.

Really? :o

I didn't know it was released in Germany. The Promise is not a good single choice anyway imo. (Just for the UK)

Yes, "The Promise" has been on Viva's playlist, but that didn't help. "Out Of Control" was released yesterday, I'm sure it won't chart, too.

Well, Girls Aloud are not known here , i didn't see them in magazines for example. I think they didn't come to promote here and they have not a live show / gig ever here. So, how could it success? The UK chart success is also very far away, as the Brit award.

Actually i love Promises, one of the few i like from GA

Yan's German chart comments - Issue date 10.04

So all of you who have thought that the German charts are especially slow at the beginning of the year, should look at this week chart, which sees only three new entries in the top 100 and almost the entire top 10 unchanged from the last week. Definitely, the chart can bear the title "the most boring countdown of the year", with Lady Gaga continuing her success at the top spot for a fourth week there. It’s good also to see Pet Shop Boys climbing steadily in the top 20.

The first of the three new entries comes in at #27 by Austrian superstar Christina Stuermer, and her latest single “Ist mir egal”. The song is a fine example of her pop-rock style, which has made her popular outside Austria, which these days can only be “proud” of DJ Oetzi. Christina's most successful songs in Germany are “Ich lebe”, “Mama (Ana Ahabak)” and “Fieber”.

As for the next new entry, I’m a little bit surprised to see The Killers follow-up of the still massive “Human” (this week #17) entering in the top 30 at #29. Nevertheless “Spaceman” is another good track of the band, and the fact that it is not a complete flop as I expected can only make this chart look a little bit less boring.

The other new entry of the week comes from Dutch DJ Sander Van Doorn and his single “Close My Eyes”, which features the vocals of Robbie Williams. A nice electro song, which can serve as an appetizer before the forthcoming new album of the great Mr. Williams. It should be mentioned also that the track is produced by the aforementioned Pet Shop Boys.

Unlike the singles chart, this week sees stronger action in the albums countdown. Despite that the highest new entry comes from Samy Deluxe at #3, I think that Sandra’s  latest album at #26 deserves greater attention.
