The ultimate British folk rock outfit who have been going strong for over 40 years who have had enough side projects and evolving line up changes to keep Pete Frame (Rock Family Trees) a very happy man! They still hold their annual Cropredy Festivals which is stilla magnet for the UK's folk scene.

Were you a fan of this act that defined the late 1960s British folk rock movement that had more offshoots & line up changes to leave Rafa Benitez dizzy & confused?

ahhhhhhhhhh interesting choice, i perfer Steelye Span personally but my stepdad is a massive fan so i know them reasonably well.
Sandy Denny is the only vocalist who even come close to Kate Bush for my money. Obviously different styles but she had a sublime voice.
None of them did anything for me, musically. I can listen to Woodstock but that's about it.

lol..you know, i didnt even realise that matthews southern comfort were a 'spin off' related act!

BIG FAN of folk rock, though i prefered steeleye span ('all around my hat' was easily their worst ever track btw,,) and agree that sandy denny had a superb voice.... but so did/does steeleyes maddy prior. love the albion band, martin carthy, jim swarbrick, gay and terry woods, the thompsons... superb inovative group of people electrifying folk (and upsetting the pureists) but imho putting a 'rock' edge (blues by default) complimented what were often very dark storylines in songs
