Posted April 18, 200916 yr as usual I've put a tenner on the contest this year which has been split up like this: £5.75 on Norway @ 11/8 £1.00 on Sweden @ 25/1 £1.00 on Azerbaijan @ 16/1 £1.00 on United Kingdom @ 20/1 50p on Denmark @ 80/1 50p on Montenegro @ 33/1 25p on Moldova @ 200/1 I at least want to make some profit, and any of these would give me that :heehee:
April 18, 200916 yr I think you have missed out Ukraine. I have put an each way bet of £5 on Svetlana, because having seen her at the preview party last night, she is FIERCE  Will post YouTube vid later, but her performance is something to behold especially if you like half naked men :kink:
April 18, 200916 yr Author really... she just seems so desperate and a huge step down from Ani Lorak :( it would be a dark day for Eurovision if Svetlana won in my opinion...I still in all honesty can't see anyone but Alexander winning, I'm just trying to cover a few more bases too :heehee:
April 18, 200916 yr I have seen Be My Valentine's Music video  She's Fierce, I agree. Btw she used to be the part of one of the most successful Russian girlgroups, called "Via Gra". Well, they're like UK's Sugababes. (I.E. changing girls every month :kink: ) I personally don't really remember her in the band, she has improved MUCHLY! Ukraine 2009 ftw! <3
April 18, 200916 yr You know, I have an album by them! :o Their Japanese album Stop Stop Stop, which is mostly sung in English, and really great in a sub-Girls Aloud way... it even includes a song in Japanese! I really need to get her album...
April 19, 200916 yr :o But yeah, they are kind of a little famous in Europe. Sung in English? :o I didn't know that.
April 19, 200916 yr Author from other reviews that I've read of the London party, I think I'm getting more worried about Svetlana as a potential winner...although having said that, the new mix of the song is far superior to what I heard before but for her to beat Fairytale would be a travesty...I really must put a pound on her though just in case :heehee:
April 19, 200916 yr :o But yeah, they are kind of a little famous in Europe. Sung in English? :o I didn't know that. Yeah. They released their English language songs as Nu Virgos in (Western) Europe and most of Asia, but as VIA Gra in Japan :) Good Morning Daddy is the best song on the album, Kill My Girlfriend is also good :) Hang on *lightbulb switches on in head* :kink:
April 19, 200916 yr :kink: I only know the Russian versions of these songs :o *finds english ones on youtube*

April 19, 200916 yr Oh my Rich, how could you not bet on Spain? :o Certainly worth a flutter with a doubtless energetic performance closing the show from Soraya...
April 19, 200916 yr Rich, you really should be putting each way bets on. It's the way I'll be going this year, as to be honest, regardless of rave reviews of Ukraine, it's a battle for second place. And I have never made a prediction with such certainty - but Fairytale is looking to be unbeatable.
April 19, 200916 yr I have REALLY changed my mind about that. Having seen Ukraine live, I think it is a serious challenger. Norway has a better song, but I don't think it totally comes together in performance... We will see :)
April 20, 200916 yr I have REALLY changed my mind about that. Having seen Ukraine live, I think it is a serious challenger. Norway has a better song, but I don't think it totally comes together in performance... We will see :) I don't know....I just don't think the juries will go for Ukraine in their droves.

And I have never made a prediction with such certainty - but Fairytale is looking to be unbeatable. I don't really understand each way bets...does this mean you get (less) money back if they come second? I agree that Fairytale looks completely unbeatable but I do like to cover other bases  I keep forgetting about the jury vote, theirs no way they'll go for Sveltana :heehee:

I agree that Fairytale looks completely unbeatable but I do like to cover other bases  I keep forgetting about the jury vote, theirs no way they'll go for Sveltana :heehee: Say you put a £2 each way bet on Denmark at 80/1. £1 is a bet on Denmark winning, so you would win £80, while the other £1 is bet on Denmark finishing anywhere in the top 4. So you would win £20 should they finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Also, I think if they were to win, you would win the £80 for the bet on them winning, and also the £20 you win for them finishing in the top 4, so a win would actually get you £100.
April 20, 200916 yr My Top 3 now is Norway, Ukraine and Azerbaijan (I hope I'm wrong about the third). Ukraine seems to be getting 3rd second place in a row :heehee: Edited April 20, 200916 yr by Romeo Af Ugglas
April 20, 200916 yr I love Ukraine's song... but I don't think she will end up with the top 3... But you can't actually say Norway is unbeatable... IF a good song enters with a fabulous performance... Performances might change your mind... Ukraine's performance was weird .. and their New Version which is really different is much better!
