Posted April 20, 200916 yr http://www.thebookseller.com/news/83122-page.html Penguin signs Take That 20.04.09 World Rights to a photographic book by Take That have been acquired by Rowland White at Michael Joseph from Eugenie Furniss and Sol Parker at William Morris and Jonathan Wild at 10 Management. The book is to be published in two volumes and will celebrate the Take That story, from the formation of the band in 1990 right up to the present day. The images will include personal pictures, previously unseen images from the Take That archive, as well as specially commissioned, stunning new photography. The accompanying text will be written by the band. Jonathan Wild, on behalf of the band said: "The guys have wanted to do a book for a long time, but it was important that the timing, as well as the creative idea was right. They’re really looking forward to producing what will be a fantastic collector’s piece featuring imagery spanning almost two decades along with comment which is both honest and personal." White said: "The inspiring return of Take That has been pop's biggest and best good news story. And nothing short of astonishing. I'm very proud indeed that Penguin will be collaborating with the nation’s favourite band on this ground- breaking and enormously exciting project." The book will be published in October 2009 following the band’s summer tour. As you've guessed ... the thread title is rather misleading! Norma Edited April 22, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
April 20, 200916 yr Im sure what i thihk of this i thik its good but im not sure if i would be buying it myself
April 20, 200916 yr Author Im sure what i thihk of this i thik its good but im not sure if i would be buying it myself It depends how they do the two volumes. If the second volume is just about them from this time round ... I'll buy that ... but apart from a few songs - I've not much interest in them the first time. Its the story since the comeback that has been most interesting ... the first half was just the 'same old' boyband story really. Plus ... they all looked just plain stupid the first time so I've no wish to look at photos of them from that era! Norma
April 20, 200916 yr Author b ut i wonder will it contain much detail about them as people I think not! Which is another reason for not buying. Personally I'd rather have more text than photos but I think it'll end up being largely the latter! Norma
April 20, 200916 yr It wudnt really interest me i would much prfer the lads to do their own stories like gary book i would love to read hopwards take on it all
April 21, 200916 yr Author I actually think this book is signalling the end. I think the third album (if they are contracted to do a third album) will be a 'best of' together with a farewell 'new' single and they'll announce an end towards the end of the year. Norma
April 21, 200916 yr i still think we will at the least get a proper 3rd studio album and a new best of collection before they call it a day
April 21, 200916 yr I don't think that is the end. There are a lot of artists with such albums on the market ( for example Robbie or Timberlake or Madonna). Actually for me says only that they win for it some money, then , why not? They have made some of that kind of books in the first time, not so high quality but still  (remember Pierce Morgan books?) I don' t think i will buy only for fotos. Must have something special  . But I would buy memories books form Mark and Howard...
April 21, 200916 yr Author This book is definitely a goer! I remember seeing on Amazon a few years back they had a description of such a tome (priced around £20) and it said 'coming soon'. Then it was 'on hold' - Waterstones had it in their 'coming soon' catalogue too. I wonder if they shelved it to see how well relations between TT & Rob faired - so that they could make it into a two-parter rather than a one? Either way ... I'm not buying it ... it'll be all pictures and scarcely any text and to be honest ... a pile of money-grabbing sh/te for both Take That and Robbie. I'm not going to make any of them any richer than I already have. Especially Rob ... he can afford to do his own book - I don't know why he doesn't ... his fans would appreciate it more than a collaboration with TT and I know I'd appreciate it more without his involvement. I'm just in a whinging mood today. I hate everyone! Norma
April 21, 200916 yr I'm just in a whinging mood today. I hate everyone! Norma LOL, i am also in bad mood. I did see the Ivor nomination. Nothing for TakeThat but TingTing are fully nominated  , at least The Last Shadow Puppets are nominated (but for the only song i don't really like) . But TingTing for the best album? :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:
April 21, 200916 yr its nothing short of pathetic to see tings tings get nominated i mean pathetic why i dont know as they have done nothing but crap and the lyrics are hardly mind blowing

But TingTing for the best album? :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: I love 'My Mistakes Were Made For You' - even my little boy loves it now (he has no choice - I play it every day on my way to drop him off at the bus stop! ) Alex Turner has got to be the best lyricist and music maker around at this time ... his words are brilliant. Wish he wrote lyrics for Take That. Just think - I'd never have bothered listening to The Arctic Monkeys or Last Shadow Puppets if it weren't for Take That! Norma
April 21, 200916 yr I hate the arctic monkeys with a passion and have done since the start and are the most over rated band in the last 10 years
April 21, 200916 yr Author I hate the arctic monkeys with a passion and have done since the start and are the most over rated band in the last 10 years I used to think that (well not the MOST overrated but certainly overrated) but I love them and most of the praise that has been heaped upon them is definitely deserved. I know Alex Turner comes across as a right pain-in-the-arse - but his lyrics are brilliant - and the music is sublime. I prefer FWN to their first album and I adore Brianstorm. I should really post in their forum sometime ... but they're all so young in there! I feel at my age I should really be settling down with my slippers on, sipping cocoa and listening to some Robbie albums! Love em! If I get a chance to watch them in concert I'm definitely going! April 22, 200916 yr Author i so read the title of this topic wrong i thought it read "Penguin sings take that" i was so excitied to see a singing penguin I'm actually toying with the idea of changing the title of the thread to "Penguin Sings Take That Tunes" now! It'll attract floating viewers! Cheers! Norma Too good an opportunity! Done! Edited April 22, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
April 22, 200916 yr Author it attracted me to the title ur naughtly side is showing again norma!! I've been slacking lately! I want to retain my title of 'funniest poster' so I've got to think of something new! I've got some great jokes but unfortunately the last one I heard (that was funny) contained too many swear words - even for me. But needs must ... so I may post it at some time! I won't do it here though ... I don't want to lower the tone in the TT forum! We're above that! I may post it in one of the forums that is closing! Norma
