Sugababes sign to Jay-Z's label

Sugababes have become the first UK pop act to sign to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records.

 

The trio finalised the deal with the famous label at a meeting in London last month.

 

Roc-A-Fella is known for releasing work by high profile hip-hop artists, including its CEO Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beanie Sigel and Jadakiss.

 

The trio are currently working on their seventh album, which they described as "a biggie" on their website.

 

They claim they've already booked recording sessions in Los Angeles and Miami, and are planning to team up with producers who have worked with Rihanna and Beyonce.

 

Only last week they revealed, via their official Twitter account, that they will be collaborating with producer RedOne, best known for his work with Lady GaGa.

 

The group released their last album, Catfights And Spotlights, in October 2008 through Island Records.

i was thinking earlier today that they've never done a collab apart from Comic Releif and have never been featured on someone else's song, i would love to have that happen.

Sugababes Get Ready To Roc

 

The Sugababes are buzzing about their US deal with Jay-Z's label Roc Nation.

 

Keisha Buchanan, Amelle Berrabah and Heidi Range signed for three albums with the new mega label.

 

A source says: "This is a tremendous launch pad for the girls in America.

 

"They've had amazing success in the UK and Jay-Z is determined to emulate that in the US." The girls are recording at Roc Nation

 

Hq in LA until the end of May. And we hear they are planning a US gig with other artists from the Jay-Z fold, including Lil' Wayne.

 

Heidi has become so close to Jay-Z's missus Beyonce that she was overheard telling sister Hayley she's asked the diva to be her bridesmaid.

 

Shopping at H&M on Sunset Boulevard she giggled: "I asked Beyonce to be my bridesmaid and she said yes. Can you imagine?"
