Posted April 28, 200916 yr From esctoday "A request by the Spanish broadcaster to vote in the second semi final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest instead of the first semi final has been approved by the reference group. As a big four country, Spain is directly qualified for the grand final but is allowed to vote in one of the two semi finals. Spain was drawn to vote in the first semi final during the semi final allocation draw on 30th January along with the United Kingdom and Germany. Now, the country will vote in the second semi final along with Russia and France. Therefore, a total of 20 countries will vote in the first semi final and a total of 22 countries will vote in the second semi final. The Spanish broadcaster claimed scheduling purposes because of plan to promote the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in a better way with the broadcast of various programmes leading to the event. The country will be represented by Soraya with the song La noche es para mí. She will perform 25th and hence last in the final on 16th May." http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/13822 ___ BIG Irish diaspora in Spain. :kink:
