Posted June 21, 200619 yr any wiccan/druid/pagan folk here will probably be celebrating the longest day of the year. from tomorrow its all downhill to crimbo!!! tbh, i think the celebration of the solstices has more meaning spiritualy then crimbo day... thoughts anyone?

June 21, 200619 yr I would not mind xmas so much if it was not rammed down our throats by retailers from AUGUST, it is just an overhyped orgy of consumerism and overspending and come the big day its usually a big anti climax and you think "thank **** its over" while putting on a fake cheesy grin of delight at getting a 4th pair of socks I despise the 4 month build up to xmas more than anything

LOL thats a part of it yes but last year at the beginning of September some stores in London were putting up xmas displays when it was 31 degrees outside and not a cloud in the sky, it is obscene, xmas should not be displayed or anything until December 1st

It really does p*** me off too. Even my girlfriend who loves Christmas is peed off with the whole 4 months of hype thing... She works as a Asst manager in a shop on Regent St and she finds it utterly ridiculous that she has to start all the X-Mas preparations at the end of September... But she has to do what head office tells her....
