I believe Jive are releasing it due to a contractual obligation. 'Radar' was supposed to be the forth single from 'Blackout' and all the legalwork was done for it etc but they went and released a new record instead, rather than pay to get out of that contract they're putting the money into releasing the track. I don't mind having it as a single tbh.

That seems so weird to me. I mean they did say Radar was to be 4th single off Blackout but i don't believe they can be forced to release it, they wouldn't have agreed to that surely?

 

I think this is nuts. Its a Bonus track ffs, those shouldn't even be on the table for singles! Didn't Brit's manager say last summer they had shot a radar vid in london of her all over the city tracking this guy on her "radar". Maybe they'll dig that out the vault since she's too busy touring to make one. :rolleyes:

 

Its a shame when its so well established now that brit's fans decide her next single, majority rules. I mean you can love or hate that system but its what they've done last two albums so its annoying that they even bothered for 4th single only to ignore the choice. Its only gonna alienate people. Radar is a good song however, so it maybe has a chance though i still think this is all BS.

 

I honestly saw this thread and thought it was an old Blackout one someone bumped. I also agree with people's comments about releasing a ballad instead of a club stomper. She good at them but Its all people expect from Brit now and it'd be nice for her to turn some heads and perhaps attract some new fans by showing she has some range. I mean the album is nice and varied but no-one but the fans will hear it if they don't buy it coz they think "same old" on hearing the singles <_<

If that really was the concept of the video, I don't think it possibly happened, cause surely Britney shooting a video all over London couldn't happen without dozens of paparazzis getting pics of it. lol

Bizarre. Unusual You is such a good song... and far better than this below-par Blackout song.

I think the concept would be to make it look like she was all over London, not have her wandering around the streets. Its not an unusual style of video, and you've heard of green screen right? :lol:

Um, really hope so but since it's JIVE we're talking about here I kind of doubt it. -_-

Yeah apparently it may be the 4th single in some countries where Radar already did well in.

But still, can't we have a video with the REAL Britney in it? :P Grrr... at least then we could have a decent video for a 5th single release. OR better yet they could still release Unusual You as 5th single!

 

I just hope Britney films another good video for Radar otherwise my guess is the single may be doomed.

I wouldn't have mined 'Radar' if it was different to the Blackout version. But it's just the same one - how do Jive expect a two year old song to sell and do good, it's been on two albums, and did climb high in a few charts on radio play and downloads alone.

 

Unusual You & Kill The Lights or even Amnesia would've been better single choices.
