Posted May 9, 200916 yr I've just bought the album. Read alot of criticism about this album but I was pleasantly surprised when I actually heard the album. Its not as good as her current album, but there are some good tracks on it.
May 9, 200916 yr It's not as mainstream and radio-friendly as 'AIEW' and 'Breakaway' but there are some really clever, deep and meaningful tracks on there that if the record company had been fully behind that era, would have been able to have done alot in terms of pushing album sales up and making it another successful album for Kelly. / Never Again / Irvine / Sober / How I Feel Some of my favourites from the album.
May 9, 200916 yr I love this album honestly it is one of my fave albums EVER. The lyrical content is just so amazing and while i dont like every track (Which with AIEW i love everytrack ), its still so amazing to listen to, i love just lying in bed and listening to the lyrics especially when im going through a hard time. Chivas shouldve been more than a hidden track
May 9, 200916 yr My December is one of my fave albums of all time as well.. Even though the production isn't amazing, you feel what she sings, and that's something missing from AIEW and Breakaway. Its a very personal album, and you can hear that in every track, from begin to end. Amazing record if you ask me. Fave tracks: Never Again (THE best KC track ever imo) Sober Maybe Irvine Haunted
May 9, 200916 yr i think it is much better than thankful and breakaway because of the rocky edge on it best tracks are Never again haunted fading
May 10, 200916 yr One of my all-time favourites as well, the poor production of it is what actually makes it good.. The songs are overloaded with meaning and emotion, and really showcase Kelly's talent well The fact that it isn't a commercial album is the deciding factor of whether you'd like it or not, it's the album that reflects who Kelly really is moreso than her other three and the songs basically rely on her voice and songwriting to pull it together - which she does exceptionally well It's also quite multi genreal, some elements of folk, slow pop and hard rock. The sad part is, unlike Nelly Furtado, I don't think she'll get another chance to do another "My December"-styled album, although to a degree I loved "Breakaway" and "Thankful", AIEW is just too overly-commercial for my liking but MD defines when I really started loving Kelly and her music, brilliant album

May 16, 200916 yr My December is amazing... I love it. While I can understand the reasons behind it's lack of success, I think it's a great album with some fantastic tracks. Like others have said, it's very honest and personal, that's what I love most about it. My favourite tracks are Never Again, Sober, Maybe, Irvine, Don't Waste Your Time... and the brilliance of Judas and How I Feel.
