One of the best and most commercially successful pop/rock acts of the 1960s British Invasion thanks to their Everly Brothers influenced three part harmonies, Byrds-esque guitars & hook happy material.

Were any of you fans of the Manchester 1960s group that featured Allan Clarke, Tony Hicks & Graham Nash or not?

I loved them. Allan Clark has got to be one of the best vocalists ever. Incidentally - went to see 10cc last night and Graham Gouldman sang some of the songs he'd written for them - Look Through Any Window, Bus Stop. Also did a fab version of 'For Your Love' which he'd written for the Yardbirds. I knew he'd written for others but didn't realise just how many hits he had been responsible for.

cant beat abit of hollies..... ok they werent ground breaking, inovative like many of their counterparts were...but boy, pop music doesnt come much better!

This was one of my favourite single of theirs

Stop Stop Stop (UK #2 in 1966)

this is one of my favs, a minor hit from 1980... 'soldiers song' which must be a traditional folk song (or one written as one), it has everything in it a trad folk song should have... sex, violence, battles, death, dispare.

what i like about these trad folk songs are the glimpse, the window, into our past. songs like this can still resonate with you if you have a little imagination...

One of the best bands in the 60's, their greatest hits cd never far from the player. Too many favourites to list, but the ones mentioned are on the list.

I loved Stop Stop Stop but I think this is my favourite Hollies song -
