It is the tougher semi after all.....

 

It's really weird at the moment, one side of me thinks we're in a very good position but the other half can't help but think we're not going to make it.

 

I'm scared. :cry:

 

Edit: although we're early in the semi I think we might benefit from being amonst a group of fairly boring songs (Sorry Croatia and Latvia :( )

It's a tough one to call. I'm not expecting Ireland to progress to the Final, but it wouldn't be such a shock if they did, if that makes sense. :mellow:

We're kinda biased though, of course we're going to think we're not going to make it.

Um, to be honest guys, I don't hold out much hope for you. I saw Sinead and BD live at the UK Eurovision party in April, and they're good, but her vocals are sometimes shaky. I also think it's going to blend into Latvia slightly, even though that's by a guy and in Russian, similar rock sound. I hope you do though :cry:

It is a nice and good song. It will make it through the finals 100% and I wish she will end up in the top 10 in the finals.. I really liked it!

I wouldn't be 100% sure really about it.

Norway (though I dont like it)

Azerbaijan

Ukraine (Hot performance i expect)

Ireland -- Love it

Greece -- Sakis Rouvas is famous

Denmark

Estonia

Poland -- Good ballad ( not so many ballads in the semi-final)

Hungary -- Not bad

Serbia they say but i prefer cyprus

I'm still divided. One part of me thinks they could just reach it, the other part of me thinks they'll come bottom of the pack. I think the latter may happen. :P

 

I think people over here don't have high expectations anymore. Brian Kennedy was pure fluke, I think.

You'll be 8th-13th...Latvia are too awful to be compared tbh :P Poor draw will be your undoing (if you don't qualify)...

Personally I would rate Ireland well inside the semi 2 top ten, I think it is about the 6th best song in the semi. But I don't think it will have much of a chance qualifying TBH because it is performed second and I think you need quite strong song (or strong diaspora) to qualify from that early and I don't think the song is good enough to pull that. On the other hand I think semi 2 has way lower quality than the first semi and that might help. Yes, there are about 5 songs that will certainly qualify but after that the remaining five spots are for grabs and there are about 10 countries that have a chance for those and one of those is Ireland.

I like the song, but it doesn't appear to be coming across too well live... Tbh I think it'll come last in the semi - the other weak performances have a few neighbours to get them a few points. Ireland could actually get nul points imo. :(

Im nervous for tomorrow night but i really hope we go through i think sinead has given quite a good live vocal but i think perfroming to early might affect us aswell..it would be great if we go through but i guess only time will tell best of luck to them tomorrow night though

I think the only chance we have is if Lithuania gives us an 8 or higher (The drummer of Black Daisy is Lithuanian). I can see Ireland getting 3 points from a load of countries, and that's about it. :cry:

Has that been publicized? I don't remember reading it... I think they have a small chance, but I'm still unsure... :unsure:

I don't see neighbours being an excuse at all anymore...Malta and Portugal made it (and only one can get the jury vote, and it was probably Sweden anyway...), so Ireland can't whip out the 'no neighbours' excuse if they do badly!

I have seen a good bit of support for Ireland over the internet, I think we'll definitly do better than we did with Dustin anyway

When re-watching SF1 last night, it occured to me that Ireland could end up like Andorra. But I hope not for Ireland's sake, I believe it is one of the top 10 in SF2.
