May 18, 200916 yr Yan's German chart comments - issue date May 15 Another almost quiet in terms of new entries week in the German singles charts, with Lady Gaga staying at the top for a tenth week. And perhaps she will stay there until the debut single of Daniel Schuhmacher, the recent and latest winner of Germany's Music Idol (DSDS), hits the stores. Apart from the #1, there are no changes in the #2 to #6 positions, which leads us to the highest new entry of the week from Ciara and Justin Timberlake. Ciara has had three other songs entering the top 10 so far, of which both "1,2 Step" and "Oh" peaked at #7 and if "Love Sex Magic" fails to advance further, it seems that the she is destined to be always as high as the number seven position. As long as Justin is concerned, he was last here together with T.I. (this week #14) and it is more than clear Timberlake is in every second song released these days. Surprisingly or not, the return single of Eminem in the charts fails by a notch to go in the top 10 and "We Made You" enters at #11. That of course can hardly be considered a flop and I think that despite all naysayers Eminem has a lot to show in the future, musically speaking. He has ten top 10 singles in Germany, of which "Stan" and "Without Me" reaching the very top. The third highest new entry belongs to Finnish rockers Sunrise Avenue, who after the mega hit "Fairytale Gone Bad" are somewhat struggling to have a new massive single. Still "The Whole Story", the pilot single from their second album "Popgasm", succeeds in being their third top 30 single. Pay also attention to one of the curious pairings of the year at #44, where comes in the duet of Bushido (one of the most famous German rappers) and TV star Oliver Pocher and their song "Kennst du die Stars", which makes fun of celebrities such as Mark Medlock, Sarah Connor and even Lil Wayne. The two have already been in the upper reaches of the countdown, but the fact that this has a lazily-shot video shows that all is just for fun... And don't forget to check out the "Umbrella" cover at #53, it's ridiculous. Finally, the return of one of the best dance acts in both the album and singles should not be neglected. I'm speaking of course of Mr. Andre Tannenberger, or simply ATB. However, it is quite sad that such music does not receive any support these days...
May 18, 200916 yr Ciara has had three other songs entering the top 10 so far - I mean prior or apart from Love Sex Magic ;)
May 19, 200916 yr The Bushido single apparently is on downloads only, and the reason it has a cheap video is most probably that Bushido isn't played on MTV and Viva any more.
May 19, 200916 yr Author The Bushido single apparently is on downloads only, and the reason it has a cheap video is most probably that Bushido isn't played on MTV and Viva any more. Why? :o BTW I saw on Amazon, that the song was released already on physicals in 2001 but never charted
May 19, 200916 yr Why? :o BTW I saw on Amazon, that the song was released already on physicals in 2001 but never charted  MTV stopped playing "Für immer jung" because they thought it was too "Schlager"-ish and wouldn't fit into their normal program. Bushido then felt offended and forbid Viva and MTV to play any of his videos from now on. The song was of course not released in 2001  It was just cancelled shortly before its planned release 2-3 weeks ago. Edited May 19, 200916 yr by AshDeluxe

Oh, I already wondered while "Für immer jung" dropped out of VIVA, but that happens when some artists start taking themselves too seriously...

Odd, look at Amazon (although the song is not available ): http://www.amazon.de/Kennst-Stars-Oliver-P...3430&sr=8-2 OMG it's a good thing they don't play Schlager but that was a bit extreme decision
May 20, 200916 yr "Odd, look at Amazon (although the song is not available ): http://www.amazon.de/Kennst-Stars-Oliver-P...mp;sr=8-2" Yeah, but Mark Medlock who is mentioned in the song did not "existed" back then :D "OMG it's a good thing they don't play Schlager but that was a bit extreme decision" Yes, but Bushido should have accepted it and get over it ... And MTV Germany does not play a lot of the pop songs out there, and I think that is the real reason for their decision. VIVA also does not play schlagers, but played Fuer immer jung...
May 20, 200916 yr Fuer Immer Jung is schlager, in the same way that Hard Knock Life by Jay-Z is a song from a musical :kink:
May 21, 200916 yr Yes, but Bushido should have accepted it and get over it ... And MTV Germany does not play a lot of the pop songs out there, and I think that is the real reason for their decision. VIVA also does not play schlagers, but played Fuer immer jung... Well, I admire him a little for this consequence, because it shows that - although he's pretty mainstream by now - he still doesn't put up with everything. MTV's decision was pretty ridiculous, especially as they first played it for 2 weeks and then stopped it... Edited May 21, 200916 yr by AshDeluxe
May 22, 200916 yr MTV's decision was pretty ridiculous, especially as they first played it for 2 weeks and then stopped it... Yeah, that is really stupid. I thought that they never played the song...
