When was the last time there were so many urban tracks in the upper regions of the singles chart (with more to come, looking at the latest iTunes chart)?

Three of the top 4 this week. :puke2: :puke2:

Either nobody knows the answer, or nobody cares... :w00t:

Depends what you call urban I guess.

01. (01) Lily Allen - The Fear

02. (02) Lady GaGa - Just Dance

03. (05) Alesha Dixon - Breathe Slow

04. (04) Eminem - Crack A Bottle

05. (03) Tinchy Stryder - Take Me Back

That was from earlier in the year, but I suppose "Just Dance" and "Breathe Slow" are more Pop than Urban, but you could possibly stretch it to 4 of the top 5.

or maybe last time Dizzee was in the top 5:

01. (01) Dizzee Rascal - Dance Wiv Me

02. (03) Basshunter - All I Ever Wanted

03. (04) Jordin Sparks - No Air

04. (02) Ne-Yo - Closer

05. (06) Ironik - Stay With Me

That's 4 of the top 5, at a push.

In short, I'm not sure really. There's nothing wrong with Urban music anyway.

Theres nothing wrong with urban music, it's always going to have a mainstream appeal and alot of it is very high quality, whether you agree or not. It will always dominate the charts somewhat I should think. ^_^

Depends what genre of urban music it is - I don't mind most R&B, Reggae or Soul, but other than that... :puke2:

At least this urban music is actually decent. I'm not a fan of it generally but 'Number One' and 'Bonkers' are great and 'Boom Boom Pow' isn't that bad. I've always quite like Eminem and even the new Soulja Boy song isn't that bad, it's a huse improvement on his previous singles!

plus Bonkers is more dance than urban anyway

Unfortunately MTV Dance seems to think so too, so I can't even escape it there... :(

I usually dont mind the BEPs but Boom Boom Pow is the biggest load of sh!te ive ever heard ! 2003 was really bad for this sort of sh!te with 50 pence and the such like in the charts.
