September 10, 200915 yr Author I'll send it you on MSN if you want ^_^ not heard "Force Of Nature" though. Ooh alright, if I haven't bought it by the time I catch you on. ^_^ There was just no buzz at all surrounding the album release whatsoever though... but I guess she doesn't have a major record label pushing her anymore (well...not that they used to do a good job at that lol)! Anyway....the album is AMAZING! My favourites are Beautiful Night, Breakout, In Your Shoes (SUCH a catchy tune and i love the autotune), Square Peg (love the lyrics in this one) and Turned to Stone, but to be honest i don't dislike a single song :) Really wish she came to Belfast for her tour though as me and a mate really wanna go see her (although I was lucky enough to see her in Glasgow years ago i suppose!) I know, she's done lots of bits and bobs of promo, but nothing really big to grab the public. Yeah, I don't dislike anything on there either. She's doing Glasgow again this year, if you can make it again, but there may be hope yet. Apparently there's a second leg of the tour to be announced yet. (I'm guessing it may or may not happen, depending on how the first half sells) SHOCK HORROR, gooddelta in Bev forum :o as a non-Bev fan who has bought the album (thank you Aaron) I thought I'd give an outsiders perspective on the album (i.e. no loon glossing over of average filler :heehee:) 8.0 Beautiful Night - it's finally growing on me..., the electro undertone is very good actually and the chorus worms its way into your head 9.0 Breakout - love this, very catchy, reminds me of something I can't think of right now 7.0 In Your Shoes - pretty good song, not seeing why it's a fan favourite though, the production is very 2002 and the vocoders don't suit her 5.0 100% - bland 5.0 Every Step - this is set to be a single? poor choice, very 1999 but not in a good way 9.5 Soul Survivor - excellent, best track on here, great duet, lyrics, catchy, the full package 9.0 Turned To Stone - brilliant, excellent melody in the chorus 5.0 Bare - average, went right over me 8.0 Square Peg - why do I have visions of my favourite childhood toy listening to this? the best of the slower songs for me 7.0 Gold Chain - pretty good, she has great lead and backing vocals on this 5.0 Money Back - didn't interest me at all 4.0 Painted Pony - zzzzzzzzzzzzzz 8.0 Too Much Heaven - nice cover, good finish to the album overall, I was impressed with this seeing as I'd say I liked 8 of the 13 tracks, which for a casual listener is very high! a few yawnsome ballads bring down the quality a bit on what could well have been one of my most shockingly good albums of the year otherwise WOO glad you seem to have liked it, see I don't rave over nothing. ^_^ I see your least faves are mostly the slower songs, as expected. Perhaps they'll eventually grow, like "Beautiful Night". "Every Step" isn't set to be a single, it was a buzz track because of the big name producers - Jam & Lewis - on it. No wonder it's 1999, they haven't produced a hit since the 90s as far as I know. Haha, was your favourite toy that box with all the shapes and the holes? :heehee: Personally I prefer "100%" (the production is beautiful) but "Square Peg" is a close second. Reminds me of "Straight Jacket". I hope it can manage top 20 come sunday but i think the beatles could ruin its chances, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I think it'll fall to about #25 or so by the end of the week. I think I'll pretend it charted at the position minus the Beatles albums.
September 11, 200915 yr but "Square Peg" is a close second. Reminds me of "Straight Jacket". yeah I thought the same.

Best Bev song of all time! And I think it might actually end up at 19/20 come Sunday. Hopefully shouldn't end up any lower. Anyone know if she has a promo planned for next week? Could see the album actually climb a few places and stick around if she has a few performances on tv ;)

Anyone know if she has a promo planned for next week? Could see the album actually climb a few places and stick around if she has a few performances on tv ;) Yeah, I'm feeling more confident for it, now that it's climbed from yesterday. I'm pretty sure about it staying top 20 now. Currently it'd be #11 without the Beatles albums. Unfortunately I don't think she's got any TV promo next week. :nocheer: She will be performing "Beautiful Night", "Bare" and "Gold Chain" on Jools Holland on either the 22nd or 25th of this month though. (not sure how his show works) I am a sucker for ballads, but not bland forgettable ones, moreso epic (and I mean epic in the sense of dramatic as opposed to how everyone else uses the term to describe anything these days) ones like Delta Goodrem's Believe Again or Leona's Bleeding Love  I wonder what the next single will be then...I don't suppose it matters as I don't expect it will help the album back into the charts anyway when it inevitably falls out after 3 weeks :( Oh, I see what you mean, dramatic ballads. Bev's are usually of the smooth or soulful kind. Bev has said the next single is likely to be an "In Your Shoes"/"Soul Survivor" double A-side. (not sure how she plans to release a likely digital only double A-side ) Possibly followed by "Breakout".

September 12, 200915 yr Apparently the third single is going to be Turned To Stone...??? That, along with Painted Pony are the worst 2 songs on this album. Turned To Stone sounds like one of those totally average songs for a totally average singer. Every time I hear it, I can't help but think it should have been a song by someone like S Club 7 for High School Musical. Utter Dirge! And Painted Pony, well that's exactly what it is, sh*t dressed up as a song. Edited September 12, 200915 yr by James2
September 12, 200915 yr Turned To Stone would be the best choice of second sinlge if you ask me. As much as i love Soul Survivor, it just wouldnt work as a single.
September 12, 200915 yr A few people have said that so I've tried to make myself like it but the more I listen to it, the more I dislike it. Her voice on the chorus is overbearing and quite annoying. Just trying to think of who would like it (non bev fans) and I honestly can't imagine anyone singing along to it. Far too camp for any male and a bit high school musical and uncool for most girls. Unless she wants to tap into Same Difference's fan base :puke2:
September 12, 200915 yr After discovering Spotify is free (2000 and late, I know :() I decided to give this a listen. :D I'm halfway through, and the current standouts for me are 'Breakout' and 'In Your Shoes'. Will keep you updated :) :P
September 13, 200915 yr Author best choices possible I think for single releases, at least to raise the profile of the album if nothing else Agreed, I don't think she'll be expecting to storm the charts with her singles after tomorrow. (I don't think she looks at midweeks, bless her!) Apparently the third single is going to be Turned To Stone...??? That, along with Painted Pony are the worst 2 songs on this album. And Painted Pony, well that's exactly what it is, sh*t dressed up as a song. I disagree about "Turned To Stone", it's one of my faves now. I do think her voice is a bit high on it and I think it'd be better if the chorus didn't feature what sounds like a gospel choir (perhaps why it sounds S Club/HSM?) but it's easily one of the catchiest numbers on there, seems a shame you can't get into it. I love that it's bittersweet, she said it's a bit like "Young Hearts Run Free", in that it sounds like a happy song but the lyrics tell a different story.
September 13, 200915 yr Im realy pleased with #17 as i was sure all the Beatles re releases would have pushed it into the top 30, considering all the beatles competition she has done well to stay top 20 and sales should be in or around 10,000 as the beatles are number 21 with sales of 8,532.
September 13, 200915 yr Author Sold 9,234. I'm pleased with that, was thinking it'd get about 5,000 sales before it was released.
September 16, 200915 yr Author Ugh awful. I know a lot of albums are out this week, but I was hoping it'd hold up a bit better. :(
