I'm very happy with this upcoming album because it seems that it will sound a lot like Folklore. But I'm afraid that it won't be any popular where i live, in Canada. Here radio stations never plays anyhing but french or english songs. I'm pretty sure they won't make exception for this. I don't know if that was part of Nelly's ''plan''. Anyway, I'll buy it

Unfortunately, I fear that may happen in also in other countries. I think this new direction of Nelly is less about commercial success and more about Nelly being herself and trying the things she wants and likes. And like you, I'll still buy the album even if it's not successful

Three years ago, Nelly Furtado wanted make her dream come true, record a spanish album. The Canadian girl bet in a man called Gustavo Santaolalla in her new musical adventure. And it seems that he has obtained all intentions.

Although we haven't many details on their new disc, Mi plan, Furtado let us know that the producer of her first experiment in Spanish is Santaolalla; and days ago we could see Nelly in a studio with Julieta Venegas and Mala Rodriguez.

Who could more be responsible for this fusion? Neither the more nor less than the Oscar winning, who have acted as producing of Julieta Venegas and with Nelly Furtado he was there with “Fotografia” (due with Juanes) and “Powerless” (we can hear in her album Folklore), and in the song “Te Busqué” (we can her in her album Loose), also with Juanes.

“The Santaolalla works is amazing, he is a musician who I admire a lot, and what he touches become a marvellous, so is a honor to be with him!" said Nelly in an interview of the last year.

The idea to record in Spanish, explained Furtado, is because she has portuguese roots and she'd like to be thankful to all her hispanic fans.

In the album Mi plan, we can hear her first singles called "Manos Al Aire", the singer, 31 years old, will publish the same album in a portuguese version.

“The Juanes music is great, he's so talented, so direct with his songs, is fascinated work with him, he is too much special and sensitive." said Nelly.

Originally, the "Manos al aire" release was programmed for the 06/29, but with the internet the Universal Music decided to advance the release four days.

The internet boom made the America and Europe radios publish the song before to be released.

Mi Plan was about to be realease in 26th september, and it'll be a competition with Shakira, because the singer will put her album at the stores at the same month.

And just for remember, Shakira already has experimented what Nelly is doing, we must admit, she has success with her two albums in spanish and english.

It's so good that is working with Juanes. :yahoo:

I love those two. They make always great music

Another message from Nelly

Wow, thanks for that. I really loved it :) She's so naturally beautiful and so chilled in the studio. Natural talent so evident in how spontaneous she described the writing for the album. She sounds completely different in her Spanish speaking voice as apposed to her English speaking voice - a completely different story when it comes to her singing. Ah, she's simply amaze.

Oh, thank you :friends:

So, the portuguese album will be Mi Plan just in portuguese? Ummm i can handle that :P

Also can i just say im glad she ditched Timbaland  Did not like the route he was taking her on.

So, I found this:

For those who don't understand she says that Nelly likes watching Soap Operas and that's why Nelly wants to make a little soap operas for her two new videos "Manos Al Aire" and "Más". So, Nelly wants to have in the video latin actors and actresses that have made soap operas and that's why she asked Joe Blanco to join in the video, Nelly met her in Los Premios MTV 2006 in Miami. Joe also says that Nelly wanted to have the actor Manolo Cardona in the video, but he wasn't able to be part of it because he had troubles with his visa, then Nelly invited a canadian actor that looks like Manolo (really sad 'cause my sister loves him, and I'm sure others girls would watch the video if he was in it)

Joe mencioned that Nelly watched her playing a role of a psychologist in a soap opera and she came out with the idea to make a video with that kind of character, I don't know if she's talking about "Manos Al Aire" video or "Más" video.

"Manos Al Aire" video was shot on Canada by Little X

Joe had the opportunity to listen the album and she liked it a lot because has differents rythms and several colaborations like Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Fernández, Julieta Venegas, Mala Rodríguez, Concha Buika and Javier Limón.

Nelly Furtado admits that writing her new, all-Spanish album, "Mi Plan," wasn't in her plans at all after finishing a hectic tour to promote her last chart-topping record.

"I was physically tired and I wasn't feeling inspired. It was almost as if I lost my pop inspiration to write in English," Furtado said. "I just needed a new outlet, and I found it by writing in Spanish."

The 30-year-old singer told The Associated Press at a Miami recording studio that her fourth full-length album, which is set for release Sept. 15 on her own Nelstar Music label, more intimately explores the passion that fuels relationships

"I think this album has some of my first true love songs ever. They're not complicated. They're not over-intellectualized, and I found it liberating to be able to sing in the Latin language and to express myself from my Latin soul," said Furtado, the Canadian-born daughter of Portuguese immigrants.

The Grammy-Award winner, who vaulted up the pop charts with such indelible tracks as "I'm Like a Bird" in 2000 and "Promiscuous" in 2006, is set to deliver a new fleet of mostly up-tempo, melodic tunes on "Mi Plan."

"Manos Al Aire" and "Mas" have already hit the airwaves, and two more songs are expected to be available on iTunes in the coming weeks leading up to the album's release.

The 11 songs on the album include collaborations with Mexican singers Alejandro Fernandez and Julieta Venegas, Spanish singer Concha Buika, Latin hip-hop singer La Mala Rodriguez and Dominican singer Juan Luis Guerra.

And classical singer Josh Groban's cameo on "Silencio" was a "huge blessing," Furtado said.

"I thought it was important to sort of showcase on this album an artist that people know more for their English recordings," she said. "So, I thought by working with Josh would actually elevate my point that language isn't a barrier when it comes to music."
