I have a very rough quality recording of the 2002 show on video...I watched it at a friends house and asked my mum to tape it, but she must have used a broken video or something because it's barely watchable :(

I haven't even watched a single show until 2002 AFAIK. The first moment i remember is me & my sister blaming Europe for 3rd place and 3 points from winning :kink:
that was 2003 :P did you blame anyone specific in Europe? you should have blamed the UK! Nul points for tATu despite the fact that at that point, All The Things She Said was the biggest song of the year and Not Gonna Get Us was in the top ten :heehee:

Yeah I meant until 2003. :P

I started blaming UK only few months ago as i had been doing some research for the Eurovision site (my Uni task) and i noticed how impressive they were at the time of the Eurovision -_- Actually, Wikipedia says that people actually blamed the Kingdom (and Ireland) for this third place. LOL

it surprised me actually that we gave Russia nothing in 2003, in fact, the song was even the b-side to Not Gonna Get Us here in the UK! Having said that, I really dislike Ne'ver ne Bojsia (sp?) and thought that their performance was vocally terrible (almost as bad as Jemini!) and didn't deserve any points from us :heehee:

I'm with you on the point that Ne Ver' Ne Bojsia (Не Верь Не Бойся) was vocally DISASTROUS. LOL But I was too patriotic that time so really wanted us to win :heehee:

Jemini... what a great comparison by the way :kink:

the pair just sounded completely out of breath, especially in that bit where they ran to meet each other in the middle of the raised stage  the only time I've fully backed Russia for the win is in 2007  in 2000 you had one of the two best songs too though

Jemini were just singing along to a different tune in 2003 :heehee:

These are my favourite russian performances/songs too. The studio version of Ne Ver' is good, I still can't stop listening to it... on another note, remember how they started here with All The Things She Said and, weirdly, I remember the episode of my life when I once watched the video (I was 10-ish LOL). They kicked off fantastically... unfortunately, you have now to be more than a lesbian duo with decent voices to manage through the unbreakable barrier to massive world attention :(

I still watch that performance from time to time in order to keep remembering what the awful singing is

Uh Huh Her will never rule the world then :( they should have launched in 2001 and beat tATu to it :kink:

I remember when I first heard All The Things She Said on the internet, I thought 'this will be a top ten hit' and then I saw the video and thought 'this is a guaranteed No.1'

The song is fantastic really, the performance is even greater than the studio version. The crowd that year was clearly the best. The early performing number was a disadvantage as well. One of the 2007-defining songs.

One of the best this decade

The 3rd Israeli entry top this chart so far. There're also 3 to come. It seems I also have this fetish in my countless list. :(

--------------=============----------------

Here're some of the additional stats:

Country Number of entries

Israel 6

Ukraine 5

Serbia (+...&Montenegro) 4

Turkey 4

Greece 3

The rest of the countries all has 1 or 2 entries in the chart. It's quite widespread i should say. From UK and Austria to Latvia and Croatia :o

This costed us our first win  LOL Joking of course. Incredible song! National motives through the song click me a LOT. Thius was no exception. Even though i like it it could've done better finishing 3rd. :heehee: Talking of that Tatu are yet to come :magic:

The first 2009 entry to the list! And again it finished one point and place above the Russian entry. But i didn't really f***ing care a single SECOND how 'Mamo' does in ESC. Because it was a pile of $h!t. This song however is the mix of great lyrics, performance (amazing show!), costumes and vocals (although one sister was singing more poorly than the other but still...) which obviously couldn't help but click on me...

A gorgeous beatiful ballad, can't get all the hate it gets from time to time. Brilliant vocals, great performance, nice knowhow for Eurovision in general.

Finished criminally low for such amazing song (at least comparing with Dima Bilan( :manson: )). Perfect Eurovision anthem. Pure sex.

One of the most amazing years in Eurovision. The fact this song finished 3rd to last pissed me off to be honest. I found the song insanely catchy and it was my summer 2005 anthem, couldn't stop listening to it, was even my favourite just after the show.
