July 26, 201015 yr It was incredible! Easily the best movie i've seen this year. I almost cried when that incinerator thing was happening. 'Almost' because it didn't last long enough
July 26, 201015 yr SOMEBODY on this forum think this isn't the best film of '10. Debate, discuss, speculate etc.

July 26, 201015 yr Tbh, I personally enjoyed The Crazies more than this and possibly Date Night and Inception too but this is definetly up there. There haven't been that many amazing movies this year in general imo.
July 26, 201015 yr I just didn't think it was EXCEPTIONAL or anything. It was good fun and a worthy way to close out the franchise. It was intelligent, at times suspensful and at others heart-warming... but there wasn't anything overly stand-out about it. It was just a very solid 8/10 sort of film.

All im gonna say is metacritic: Date Night: 56 Toy Story 3: 92 obviously one makes their own mind about films, but Toy Story 3 is artisically and critically a brilliant film, i can understand someone thinking Inception is better, but Date Night :S just embassing.
July 27, 201015 yr Well it is my personal opinion. :P I don't really care if it was slated by critics or whatever, I really enjoyed it.
July 27, 201015 yr Well it is my personal opinion. :P I don't really care if it was slated by critics or whatever, I really enjoyed it. what MADE it a better movie though? i get that it's personal opinion / whatever but if you're giving an opinion that is typically going against the majority it's nice to provide some solid reasoning for it rather than stating it as fact. not trying to discount your opinion or anything, but i'm curious as to why date night is a better film than toy story 3 because personally i can't see it. at all. toy story 3 had this wonderful metaphor of growing up / the journey of life / whatnot (and passing on wisdom to younger kids and how life goes full circle) whereas date night as just...a film with a couple of okay laughs?

Hmmm well maybe it isn't a better film but I thought the dialogue of Date Night was pretty funny / clever and I adore Tina Fey. It could just be for the simple fact that I had a more enjoyable experience of it in the cinema with my best friend and have seen it more than Toy Story 3 tbh, I know that's a very weak argument but it was one of the funniest movies I had personally seen in a long time. Same with The Crazies for being one of the best horror films I've seen in a while, seeing as most other mainstream horror films have been a huge disappointment and horror being my favourite genre.
July 27, 201015 yr Author In UK, Toy Story 3 has biggest opening EVER for an animated film and 2nd biggest all-time with £21.19 million.
July 27, 201015 yr To add to my previous comment about the film I think the scene where Andy gaves his toys away was all a bit FORCED SENTIMENT - over-long and practically yelling at the audience to CRY NOW PLEASE. It was definitely the weak link for me.
July 27, 201015 yr In UK, Toy Story 3 has biggest opening EVER for an animated film and 2nd biggest all-time with £21.19 million. Incredible. And when I went to see "Inception" on Saturday, people were just coming out from Toy Story and one kid was dressed as Woody  But... Opened with £21,187,264 in the UK over the weekend. I think that's supposed to be the second biggest UK opening ever, behind Harry Potter & The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
