Posted May 29, 200916 yr Cyclebuzz was certainly BUZZ'N on this very special day in May... It was wednesday afternoon at cyclebuzz and i was looking forward to Matt Irvine ( 17 years old ) arriving to ease the stress of what was already a busy day. In walks a bloke with a lot of tatoos, baseball cap, jeans, and a blonde haired woman with big glasses, blue denim short type dungarees, and great legs. I greet them with my normal "g,day mate". The guy, in an American accent says they want a couple of racing bikes. He says its got to be a Giant because he gets sponsored by Giant back in the States... ( My internal thoughts at this time are - "who are the hell are these two and what kind of a bulls--t story is this guy giving me about being sponsored" Why do people have to make up such stories? Never mind, just carry on anyway, don't be like that, don't judge people" ) The lady takes off her big glasses and i am pleasantly suprised she looks cute. She was wearing high heel shoes and they are pink. " What height are you without your heels?" she kicks off a shoe, steps down..."5 foot 3". (Internal thought - oh god she has tatoos in a lot of places, even on her legs, maybe they have a tatoo shop or something and are here on holiday) We look at ladies racing bikes in extra small, the lady chooses a Giant TCR Alliance Womens which is carbon weave and pink in colour. We look at accessories and as you can imagine the colour pink features. By this time i'm over my shock of the tatoos and she is very personable and down to earth, so is the bloke with her. When the bloke tries on some clothing he takes his shirt off revealing his whole upper body covered in tatoos - wow! boy that must have hurt getting those. He looks like someone from crusty demons to me. The two of them are light hearted and good to deal with. They are openly affectionate with each other which is nice to see. I had noticed two blokes standing at the entrance to the shop, they had been there for a while. It was annoying me and i felt like telling them to move on. I had not noticed they were with this couple, nor realised the black limo out the front of the shop, or the other guy with camera. It came time for payment and the lady was paying for the bikes. I asked if she knew who those blokes were at the front. She gives me a look and says " ones my driver, and ones my body guard". (internal thought - yeh right, and i've got a butler - maybe they're just having fun with me ) I swipe the credit card..... "So excuse my not knowing, but, are you a film star or something?" "I'm a singer" " So, would i have heard your songs on the radio?" "Maybe" " i go by the name pink" "So you are famous...Cool" - they laugh After they left Matt said to me, "you are a tool, I can't believe you didn't know that you were selling bikes to Alicia Moore and Carey Hart" Simon :) CycleBuzz Dont know if this was posted before but I thought it was quite funny
