Looking forward to this. I liked the first one (wasn't a brilliant film, but it was decent enough) and the trailer for the next films looks promising.

 

I know in vampire stories there is always gonna be overlapping stories, but I can't help but see similarities between The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels and the Twilight series, even if there are quite a few fundamental differences...

Buffy is bloody brilliant. It is one of the greatest creations in television history. I never compare things to each other but 'Twilight' was always poised as a romance. The fact it happens to include vampires is well just an extra twist to me. I mean, we see that a lot of the action in the books is often delayed or not seen from Bella's perspective whilst the author spends ages dwelling on the romantic stuff.

 

Anyway I still can't wait for the film even if the trailer does look a bit cheesy. To reinforce my earlier point I can imagine they will special effect its arse off and make it more action packed to make up for the lack of in the excellent book.

The trailer currently being aired looks so good. Since we don't get the Deathly Hallows this year, this can be most-anticipated of '09.

Oh and there will be a new extended trailer premiered at the VMA Awards on Sept 13th :D

The new trailer is immense. As if Dakota Fanning has been cast as Jane! Inspired! I'm so excited for this, although I really hope that it's as well-directed as Twilight was. Catherine Hardwicke did such a good job with it, it's a shame she opted out of directing this.

Amazing new trailer. Basically the whole book sumarised in a couple of mins there lol!

 

I bought the books and had a mammoth reading session when I was at home and got totally hooked!

I'm getting a bit excited for this now, I feel rubbish as I haven't read the book yet. I might try and crack that bad boy out soon. Is it really bad that I can't stand KStew? ): The way she acts the same in absolutely e.v.e.r.y movie [...that I've seen] and her man voice upset me. She totally reminds me of a poor man's Effy from Skins as well, and when you're the poor man to a Skins character...something's obvs wrong.

KStew is amazing. She's my new idol. It's not just because she's like the world's most stunorific woman either, I think she's a great actor for the most part. All the tiny little nuances she incorporates are so human and make her seem like she IS the character rather than somebody saying scripted lines. When she stutters it's awful, like the scene in the hospital near the end of Twilight where Edward tells her to go to Jacksonville, but otherwise she's the shit.

 

Personally having watched Twilight again three times I've over the past week I've decided RPattz is CRAP. Enjoyably crap though. TLaut is properly rubbish as Jacob though, ugh.

Oh wow, I want all 3 posters now!

I love the posters. All of the Cullens look so manic and frenzied and Jane looks spectacularly evil. I don't understand why they've cast Caius so young though (although he is hot)?

 

Also I totally don't approve of them ditching Rachelle Lefevre just because the film she was shooting had a five day overlap with the beginning of the Eclipse shoot. Not on.
