Natasha Henstridge may be tying the knot, but she's not obsessing about every little detail of the wedding ceremony. Her main priorities: "The food, the dress and who's going to be there." "Beyond that, somebody else can plan the whole thing," the ITALIC "Species"] star, 34, tells InStyle Weddings. Engaged to her fiancé, Scottish singer Darius Danesh, for two years, Henstridge has yet to decide on a location but does have an idea as to where she'd like to get married. "Scotland, Cabo, Napa – we just can't choose," she says, before adding that they're "leaning toward the beach with immediate family and friends. "Afterward, we'll have a party in Newfoundland, where I'm from. Something really casual – like a lobster boil or boating on the ocean with my family," she adds. "And then a Persian-themed bash in Scotland with his family." Even though Henstridge hasn't selected a wedding dress – she's willing to take chances but is looking for something "classic" that's "fun, light and whimsical" – one thing's for sure: "We'll serve red velvet cake wherever we are." from Huffington Post http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20283136,00.html
June 4, 200916 yr thanks meg. Things are moving at a pace suddenly. Wish the album was. He will be very busy wont he if all that takes off this year.
June 5, 200916 yr What a sensible woman....just concentrate on the main things and let others run around sorting the rest. Sounds romantic. Wonder when it will be, that would give us some idea of the album....or not.
June 5, 200916 yr Author This one is for the romantics among you. Sneak Peek: InStyle Weddings Summer 2009 June 4, 2009 at 10:15 AM We were lucky enough to score the gorgeous Natasha Henstridge for our summer 2009 cover. Not only did the stunning actress, probably best known for her role in Species, show off four unexpected twists on bridal style, but she also dished on her engagement and wedding. Here are a few highlights: How did he propose? It was on my birthday in 2007. Darius, my fiance, surprised me with a trip to a meditation center in the Pacific Palisades—we were walking along this beautiful winding pathway, and he started talking about how the course of our relationship paralleled that path. Then he blindfolded me and said, "I have a surprise for you." He led me a bit farther, and when the blindfold came off, there were hundreds of candles set up everywhere and a stereo system. He sang a song he wrote called "All at Sea," and the lyrics themselves were a proposal. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes, and we kissed and cried—it was so romantic. Tell us about the ring. It's a vintage ring from the 1920s. It's from France, which is fitting since I think the base of the setting looks like the Eiffel Tower. The round diamond is just under 3 carats, and has a very unusual cut. I call it a kaleidoscope. What type of wedding do you want? We go with the flow. Maybe too much since we haven't actually planned ours yet. Scotland, Cabo, Napa—we just can't choose. We're leaning toward the beach with immediate family and friends. Afterward, we'll have a party in Newfoundland, where I'm from. Something really casual—like a lobster boil or boating on the ocean with my family. And then a Persian-themed bash in Scotland with his family—his father is Iranian. What are you going to wear? Will I be barefoot in a soft and flowy dress on the beach, or will we be in a chapel? I'm still torn. It takes courage to do what Gwen Stefani did, which was wear a pink ombré dress to her wedding. I'm trying to find a way to incorporate all of these elements into my bridal look: a classic dress that's not too pulled together. It has to be easy to move in and fun, light and whimsical. I like taking chances, but I don't want to look back in 20 years and say, "What was I thinking?" At least she got to hear something new.
June 5, 200916 yr As long as the album does too. If the wedding goes ahead this summer, surely everything else will go on hold. Sue
June 5, 200916 yr Author I hope we get the album. They've waited this long to get married - surely they can let us have the music first. Or am I being unreasonable?
June 6, 200916 yr Ah that sounds lovely, congratulation to them both. I am sure they will be very happy.
June 6, 200916 yr Author I think Darius is still keeping it private but not having much luck there. They have been happy for most of the last 5 years so it does seem likely.
June 6, 200916 yr I hope we get the album. They've waited this long to get married - surely they can let us have the music first. Or am I being unreasonable? No you're not being unreasonable, but how is he going to get time to promote an album when he's busy getting married? I think we might have to wait for the album. Sue
