Why the hell does it matter whether Britney fans accept it or not?

When I go and see anyone live, not just Britney, I go to see them. I don't go to hear them.

If I wanted to hear them, I'd put their CD on.

The fact is, half the time you can't even hear a live vocal through the band, crowd etc.. so I like to see something.

Nobody has made you pay to see a Britney show and if anybody else chooses to do so, that's absolutely none of your business.

You wouldn't pay to see Britney or most other pop acts anyway, so I don't see why you're wasting your time making a big deal about it, preaching to fans who couldn't care less about what you said anyway.

The only reason people are replying with a disagreement is because you state all of your arguments like you're right and everyone else is wrong.

How you can tell me that I shouldn't go and see Britney Spears because she mimes and that if I do, I'm having the p!ss taken out of me is outrageous.

im sorry but thats the most douchebag thing i have read in this thread, the whole point in a LIVE gig is to see the act PLAY (not mime), im not going to see NIN (in 35 days and counting, tickets came yesterday :w00t: ) just so I can see Trent Reznor himself in person, but to hear the songs being played live, as it happens.

If i was going just to see Trent Reznor, might aswell arrange a f***ing dinner date.

the points you raise have already been addressed <_< . please go back and READ the thread because if you did, you wouldnt waste your time repeating the same old arguments and you could reply by answering the charges levied against (not only britney) mime artists.

Did anyone else hear about this? It's from The Sun, so take it with a pinch of salt:

BRITNEY SPEARS flogged hundreds of tickets for her London gigs at the bargain price of £2.

Unsold VIP standing tickets with a face value of £100 were slashed in a bid to fill the O2 at the weekend.

Promoters feared a sea of empty seats in the arena would present a poor image of the troubled star.

So they took the drastic step of cutting entry prices on website theaudienceclub.com.

I'm told: "The shows on the weekend still had a number of unsold tickets by the end of last week.

"Organisers were mystified as to why, but really did not want a bare arena floor.

"It could send out a message that the star's run in London hasn't been a complete success.

"So on Thursday they contacted a website who specialise in getting rid of last-minute tickets.

"They all went, but taking a £98 hit on each sale wasn't particularly pleasing for anyone concerned."

Brit seemed to take it all in her stride.

She was spotted taking her kids on a trot around London's Hyde Park on Friday afternoon.

The star wolfed down a burger as little SEAN PRESTON and JAYDEN JAMES larked about alongside bodyguards and nannies.

Wow. :o I would have so gone for £2. No wonder she's 'selling out' arenas if they're going to such measures. I wouldn't believe it but Norma did say the other day that she could have easily bought some tickets if she wanted, it's not like they were selling like hot cakes.

So perhaps less people are paying £100 a head to see Britney mime than we thought. :o

I think its good of them to give away tickets for such a good price, but at the same time, LOL at them having to do that.

Well good luck arranging a dinner date with a famous person...

And did I mention anything about you going to see anyone? No, I did not.

Obviously, as we like two different genres, we go to gigs/concerts expecting different things.

I think if that guy from NIN came out and did a dance routine, you'd all drop dead.

The two are incomparable really.

Yes, they're both live shows, but in the same sense so is Tweenies Live?

The tickets are still 100 quid on ticketmaster?

And out of an arena that seats close to 20,000 people... a couple hundred is not that much, especially when she is doing a two week stint at one arena.

And don't you think further news on Britney and her tour should go in the Britney forum? I can understand having a broad topic about one subject involving several acts, but now it's kinda morphed into a Britney news thread.

Contrary to what some of you might believe, Britney fans don't care if you come into the Britney forum and have an opinion that isn't praising her. Criticism is different from bashing, and it helps stir debates which is healthy for all forums, IMO.

what about the people who have already paid full price? will they get refunded the difference

I almost got tickets to see her in manchester but I cant afford it atm so I'm saving my money instead.

Yes but they were full price on Ticketmaster! Not the extortionate amount that some people said but certainly full price. However I had heard from people who had got in for a fiver at the O2 gigs (well the first one anyway - not sure about the following ones) I'm sure she's not the first artist that this has happened to - but still - it must really pee those off who paid full price.

I can arrnage a dinner date with Trent Reznor right now, unlike the bint Britney Spears who would never do anything apart from personal gain, if i dontate to a charitable cause i can eat dinner with NIN, i doubt Britney would ever do a thing like that.

Sorry why would you mention me seeing someone else, i was using me seeing someone else as AN EXAMPLE, seriously you are the reason i hate f***ing Britney fans, at least when people like Tyler argue for Britney he is backing his f***ing points up, I DONT KNOW WHY THE f*** YOU ARE ARGUING ABOUT SOMETHING IF YOU ARE GOING TO MENTION AN EXAMPLE, OUT OF CONTEXT TO THE SUBJECT, seriously how many qualifications do you have? if you have any im seriously worried about how you got them.

I dont think genre matters, if you are going to a concert just to see someone in person you are going for all the wrong reasons, here is a serious questions, Do you see yourself as a true music fan? because it is obvious you are not if you go to a gig just to see someone, not to hear the f***ing music, shouldnt you be going to see how talented they really are? your not seeing that at a Britney Spears concert, as she doesnt show her talent of singing.

I dont think 'if that guy from NIN came out and did a dance routine' i would drop dead, at least he wouldnt mime like doing it, in fact im pretty sure he is capable of dancing and singing at one time, maybe you should get into NIN, its already established he can do what Britney can, but even better.

The two are quite comparable seeing as they are both "musicians" (well this is arguable for Britney) and are both currently doing live shows.

Well The Tweenies live show is a live show, but is not a MUSICAL live show, im pretty sure they dont mime though. Tweenies>Britney.

ANYWAY, from that reply Scherz, i have come to the conclusion that you are a complete arrogant idiotic tool, and the whole fact you didnt mention what we are actually debating about at all just goes to show you have no purpose here, i may be a bit obsessive with Nine Inch Nails, but honestly get the f*** over Britney she isnt a great person or musician, but i dont care if you think that, its just how much you think that, it isnt like she is a f***ing religion so get over it. If your going to debate about something do it properly, without going off topic you narrowminded c**t.

Oh, I'm sorry. I don't agree with you or your metalhead views, so I am instantly purposeless?

I wouldn't even know who this guy from NIN was if he walked past me on the street.

The point I was making was that I enjoy other things music related.

And in your relation to your OFF TOPIC question: I would say I'm a music lover, because I love music.

But I don't obsess over it and dissect everything about a certain song etc.

I go to a gig to enjoy myself. I wouldn't go home crying if I went to see someone live and they missed a note or something.

I'm pretty sure I'm going for the reason I want to. Just because I'm not going to see a gig for the same reason as you, doesn't mean it's wrong.

I am very much a mainstream pop music kinda guy. And not because it's been fed to me, but because I do actually like it.

Yes, hard to believe isn't it! :o

People actually liking the music that sells the most!!

Anyway, I'm not really sure I care what conclusion you've come to about me.

Just less of the c**t thanks.

Oh, I'm sorry. I don't agree with you or your metalhead views, so I am instantly purposeless?

OH LMAO, i havent read the rest of your reply yet but, please right now say how i am a metalhead and what are metalhead views?

I wouldn't even know who this guy from NIN was if he walked past me on the street.

wow that is relevant, i'm not sure what you are trying to do there, is that meant to be an insult? do you think i am insulted that TR isnt famous enough that you would recognise him on the street? Yet again you prove how much of a low life you are from your music taste, yet agaon you prove you are not a real music fan, but quite obviously you only listen to people if they are famous, which is the wrong reason.

The point I was making was that I enjoy other things music related.

point that point out please, i must of missed it.

And in your relation to your OFF TOPIC question: I would say I'm a music lover, because I love music.

OK this is OFF TOPIC i agree but, why would you say you are a music lover, as you dont love it enough that you would pay to see a music star just to see them, not to appreciate the music, i go and see Jazz artists that i have listened to on CD loads, but I go to see them so i can appreciate the music.

I go to a gig to enjoy myself. I wouldn't go home crying if I went to see someone live and they missed a note or something.

I have seen many the act who missed the note, some bands if they dont miss a note they are doing it wrong (ala At The Drive In), but i would go home crying if I went to a gig where a band i went to see mimed, it's just not what one pays to see a band for.

I am very much a mainstream pop music kinda guy. And not because it's been fed to me, but because I do actually like it.

Yes, hard to believe isn't it! :o

yeah you summed that up for me.

Anyway, I'm not really sure I care what conclusion you've come to about me.

Just less of the c**t thanks.

If you did care, then that would be extremly sad of you.

You have been less of a c**t in this reply, the last one you were arguing false points and acting like an arrogant prune, so well done for a less cuntish reply.

The way I see it, whether you agree or not, I've listened to the CD, I'd like to see some performance to go with the songs.

If they're live, that's just an added bonus for me.

Contrary to belief, I'm not that fanatical about Britney. I know her voice isn't anything to shout about, but she still puts on a great show.

I haven't seen it yet, but I know that when I come out of the arena I'll have enjoyed myself.

Why don't you both shut up and get over it. I haven't seen such an immature argument in AGES.

oh grow up... there no gibberish from the 'anti mime brigade' here, only well reasoned, supported, intelligent points of view. if you HAD read the thread instead of jumping in gobbing off like a petulant child then people like me wouldnt HAVE to repeat ourselves as your points had already been addressed.

"im sad that youve nothing else to do"?.... the point of joining the forum IS to discuss music and this thread is probabally THE most pertainant thread relating to music this forum has ever seen! ffs! IT IS WHY BJ EXISTS ,..... sheesh....

A BONUS??? Are you actually hearing the utter sh!t you talk mate...? In what parallel universe is the performance of LIVE vocals at a LIVE concert considered merely a BONUS....???? It's kind of a FUNDAMENTAL......ROFLMAO..... You and all the other Britney loons are really talking out of your arses frankly, and your justfications for her CHEATING just get lamer and lamer with each post.... When the hell did it ever become acceptable to you that an artist ever could charge for a ticket and then fake a performance....? What an absolute crock of sh!t....

I am seriously losing my patience with the delusionals on this thread.... DONT YOU ACTUALLY GET IT INTO YOUR THICK SKULLS?????? If she's miming, it proves she has no respect for you as a fan..... And you morons just continue to make her rich regardless, which is really the biggest joke of all....  Indeed, "a fool and his money are soon parted"... She's laughing at all of you all the way to the bank, and you just take it....

Actually, it's a great business model in a lot of ways... Charge gullible numpties a fortune for a ticket for a show, and then not even bother to sing during the set.... She's a rotten artist, but Brit sure is one shrewd businesswoman.....

Exactly... And it's really more proof of the utter preciousness of some of the "Pop Fans" out there..... Could you imagine this thread if it was, say, Coldplay or U2 that was caught out miming at a paying gig....? I can pretty much GUARANTEE that there would be NO ONE out there defending Chris Martin or Bono, not even the "die-hards".....

I would say that a major artist being caught out miming in front of about 10,000 people every night actually WAS a pretty fukkin' big deal and was a pretty important point to discuss in an ENTERTAINMENT FORUM.. But, obviously, the likes of Sherz and his ignorant "posse" dont seem to think so... They seem to think that Buzzjack merely exists to be a 'love-in' for all their favourite pop groups and no one is allowed to be critical......

I dont consider anyone who defends what Britney or Jacko is doing to be real Music fans in any way whatsoever.... The "real" music fan does not tolerate this practice, no matter if it's an act they like or not... In fact, they should especially have a Zero Tolerance to it if it is an act they like that is doing it, because, at the end of the day, it's the fans that make the artist wealthy, and the artist is forgetting where his or her bread is buttered when they act in this manner....
