The thing is, without the physical sales, they'd have still entered the top 40 this week at about number 15! Which was more than I was expecting - the physicals only accounted for a further 9,000 (ish) on top of 18,500 (ish) digital sales. They'll obviously drop but I think if people are expecting them to drop down to the mid 20's I think they're going to be mistaken. I'd say it'll still be inside the top 20 next Sunday.

if they did that well on downloads then there is every chance it will stay top 20 and that would be great, hopefully radio play will also stay strong this week which again is always a help, and im sure they will still sell a few phyisicals aswell this week

Again ... we've spoken too soon - looks like it could well drop right out of the 40 come Sunday! Its at the bottom end of the teens in today's midweeks (and that's with missing data!) Really surprised! I knew it would drop but not by this much!

Its a bloody good job they don't rely on single sales to put food on the table ... else they'd starve!

id love to know its exact position but i have requested that in the chart thread, i know the single will drop but the album is top 5 in the midweeks which is brilliant

If I was guessing - I'd say its about 18 or 19 right now, maybe even 20 as we speak!

I think it will go between 20 and 25 like they are now on itunes, judging that all fansd who wanted have now the CD format and only the downloads will play a role.

See Iris! More people did like UAN! By the end of the year - I reckon the sales for UAN will be at least twice what sales have been for SIA! I can't see SIA selling more than 60,000 by the end of 2009.

up all night will end up selling more unless said it all can remain in the top 75 for quite a few weeks, but to be honest id be happy for up all night to outsell said it all as i much prefer up all night

Yes, only the awful thing is that the songs are judged more for the chart position than for the sales. I bet if they will be nominated for a brit next year will be for SIA and not for UAN (but i think that this time they will get no nomination for single, if they don't come with a new single who was not on The Circus till the end of the year - which i most doubt as i have the thoeory they will release new material alternative to Robbie).

I hope now some brilliant movie will use UAN in soundtrack or some weird X factor typ will sing it.

if sosmeone does up all night on x factor it will bounce back into the charts but not top 10 i dont think anything will make it a top 10 hit now but it will keep the sales climbing..with take that i dont think much foucus will be on positions especially now as its the album everyone concentrates on and i think in general far more people will remember up all night night over said it all

They won't get nominated in the 'best single' category at the Brits next year - unless they release a brand new single after the tour! And as they've said after this tour they're going to take at least a 12 month break - that isn't going to happen. They'll be nominated for 'best british band' and 'best live act' - possibly 'best british album' too - but not single. Of those - the only one I care about is the 'best live act' although it would be nice if the establishment recognised them in the 'best album' category too (but they won't).

Don't worry - nearly everyone agrees UAN is the best song on the album (and for me - it ties with the hidden track 'she said') And ... I am so loving Hold Up A Light - I can't wait to see Louis' face when we see this concert!

Isnt the circus released outside of the time frame to count for best album though???

I acn see them getting nominated for best live band and best band and they have to win best live act, the only way they will get nominated for best single is if its something to do with the public voting they might stand a chance then but i cant see it happening, that is unless like you said they release a new single which i am hoping will happen to promote a circus deluxe,,i still live in hope that this will happen.

It may be that The Circus is eligible, as it was released on 1 december. As it was with BW: it was nominated in 2008 althought released in 2006.

Yeah, Hold up a light seems to be very powerful, exactly for a stadium tour! make me wanna dance  . I will envy you when you will be at the gig!

As about UAN - i haven't heard too many loving the song. The most was loved by the critics

every review so fthe album mentioned up all night as one of the highlights and its a great sing along song and a song that always puts a smile on my face, i wonder will they gamble and go with a 4th single and although howard is suposidly not a huge fan i think hold up a light would be an ideal 4th single

I don't think so ... I think they've got more integrity than that! I'd rather HUAL was kept as an album treasure than risk it flopping as a single.

And in answer to the eligibility of The Circus in the Best Album category at the Brits - I think it will be eligible!

I was only speculating about a 4th single as i really dont think it will happen, i would be very surprised if they go with a 4th single unless they recod a new song for a deluxe, that is good that they are eligable for the brit best album award but chances are they wont win, wont bother me as i know its a brilliant album that i truly love. Did beautiful world win when it was nominated does anyone know???
