June 8, 200916 yr Author Hahaha, me too. I love German MediaSaturn shops. Hungarian ones suck! :( (they are too expensive, have no special prices - only for crappy Eastern Europen releases, and usually have music released in 1-2 years time) Music sales in Hungary is low low low and prices are high high high. Not Media MArkt's fault tbh. Is Hungary close to Germany? Didn't know :o Well not that close tbh, 700-800 kms (Munich). But I used to live there. Hasn't been to Germany though for years now :( Otherwise I often travel to Austria, and I spend money there (although I think austria is more expensive than Germany)
June 8, 200916 yr Author So this week If U Seek Amy should be new entry, right? Yes :D Watch the next chart ;) I don't think though she will be top 10, although this is her best from this album.
June 8, 200916 yr Yan's German Chart Comments - Issue Date 5.06 Perhaps it is not a surprise that the freshest DSDS winner, Daniel, remains at the top of the German singles chart for a second consecutive week, while Lady Gaga sticks to the #2, just refusing to go down. The biggest news comes at #3, where Norwegian band A-Ha enters with its comeback single "Foot of the Mountain". The song not only becomes their second biggest hit in Germany, after debut song "Take On Me" (their only number one) but it may be said that it comes from nowhere. So far it has had no video to promote it and has been popular only in their home country. However, the fact that A-Ha have several top ten hits in Germany, most recently "Summer Moved On", means that they have never ceased being popular there. The single headlines the forthcoming ninth album of the group. After a somewhat failed start of their chart career, the girls from Queensberry, the latest winners of the Popstars TV show (which has given us No Angels and Monrose, among others), manage finally to score their first top 10 hit. Though being a beautiful ballad, "Too Young" benefits also from the fact that it is not available on Queensberry's debut album. Perhaps now we may not have to write off the group so fast... Kudos also to Alexander Rybak, who unlike UK, manages to fall by only four places this week, which seems that the Eurovision hype in Germany is still on. Pay also attention to three good songs on the rise - at #9 (Sportfreunde Stiller), #14 (Laura Pausini & James Blunt) and #18 (Lily Allen - YES!). The third biggest new entry can be seen at #12, where Australian newcomer Daniel Merriweather enters the German charts with his debut solo single "Change". It may be a great song, but seems so old for people like me following the UK charts as well. And "Red" is the better single ;) We may also marvel at the consistency at which U2 make top 30 singles in Germany. "Magnificent", despite a total flop in the UK, somehow manages to come in at #23. Don't expect it to be in the top 50 in the next week or two though, when everyone who cares will have a copy. And finally for the singles chart, the prospects before Kelly Clarkson, whose previous single "My Life Would Suck Without You" was hailed as a return to form, do not seem so rosy as its follow-up "I Do Not Hook Up" enters outside the top 50... There is a bigger action this week in the albums chart, with five new entries in the top 10. Thus Green Day are kicked off from the top position by Sportfreunde Stiller and their MTV Unplugged (great!), while the latest album of Mark Medlock comes in at #3. His three previous albums all charted in the top 3, with "Mr.Lonely", his debut hitting the #1 slot. You looked up the chart @ MTV, didn't you? ;) There are some songs missing, see the first post in this thread for the correct positions... But thanx anyway ^_^
