June 27, 200916 yr Yeah, she has, but she's gonna get more points than she did last year at least, she only got to the third, I hope she can give Venus a run for her money :) Shame about Jankovic though :|
June 28, 200916 yr Author Murray was top notch today - he's gonna take some beating. If, as it potentially looks, Federer and Murray meet in the final, it could be one hell of a match... I doubt as good as last years final, but y'never know.
June 28, 200916 yr ^ it could be a good match, though if Federer is near his best in that final if that happens (and I assume he will be, Federer is almost always at his best near the end of Slams), I can't see Federer not winning it. I definitely stand by that Murray's best surface is hard courts. On clay and grass, you need to generate your own pace and power on your shots - which Murray is very good at (good enough to beat almost anyone in the world), but not as good as Federer, Nadal or even Djokovic imo. Murray's game is better suited to hard, where he can soak up the power from his opponent and turn it against him.
June 28, 200916 yr If Murray does get to the final, the pressure that the media puts on him will be too much and he will get really nervous as it is Wimbledon. He may even struggle to close out the match in the semi's.
June 29, 200916 yr Author Fuck me at that game. I thought when it went to 3-3 in the final set Murray was gonna lose it. Great game though, just when you thought Jurray had the match sewn up there's a spanner in the works and it leaves an epic ending!
June 29, 200916 yr Absolutely class game, I thought for the most of it Stan played the best tennis and was quite unlucky not to win.
June 29, 200916 yr Author He was sublime in the first set. The thing was he tried to counter Murray's game. He took quite a few risks, when rallies were on-going by moving closer to the net and it payed off. Usually the Murray plays the opposition into his hand, but this wasn't the case all the time in this match. Murray didn't like the power, and Wawrinka's serve was amazing. Real exciting game though. You could see how relieved Murray was by his reaction at the end - you'd have thought he'd have won the tournament almost!
June 29, 200916 yr It was a very good game of tennis, but I think Murray will have to improve a hell of a lot to stand a chance of winning it. There were periods wher Wawrinka was really quite poor, and he had a hell of a lot more unforced errors than Murray did.
June 29, 200916 yr DRAMA. The quality of the tennis fluctuated at times but both men played their part in a highly entertaining encounter. I wonder what this will do to Murray though - he looked mentally drained at the end and he's going to want to defeat Ferrero quickly if he's to be in good physical shape for a likely SF match against the tenacious Hewitt.
June 29, 200916 yr Wawrinka is exactly the type of player Murray struggles with - big hitting deep into the court, which can catch Murray off-guard if he's playing passively, like he was for much of today. They've had a lot of close matches against eachother in the past, and they're really close friends which always makes it awkward. Now though, Murray has a pretty clear path to the final imo. There isn't anyone he can meet en route who really has much of a shot against him - Ferrero simply isn't an elite player anymore, Hewitt's game is basiccally a B-grade version of his own, and Roddick's big strength is his serve, which is totally neutralised by Murray's fantastic return. I would've been more worried if Berdych had beaten Roddick today - he's another big-hitting who could've troubled Murray.

Murray was lucky today, as Wawrinka could have beaten him today, but now he looks like he could get to the final. My only worry is whether that match took it mentally and physically out of Murray...
June 29, 200916 yr I definitely wouldn't worry about him being tired physically. He's one of the fittest guys in tennis now, and he hadn't been pushed that much before today so will have saved some energy from that, and he has a couple of days off now. So he should be fine.
June 30, 200916 yr You could tell how nervous he was in the match just before he served at that last match point. He finished a bit teary eyed as well which is good 'cause it shows that he wants it more than anything in the world. He should find Ferrero quite a breeze i think though he will definitely be sleepy tired as he wouldn't have got back to sleep till 2/3 because of all the commitments the players have now. Roddick will push aside Hewitt. Djokovic and Haas will be close and although Djoko will most likely be the victor there could be an upset. And the Fed Express will burn Karlovic 6-4 6-4 6-4. In the semis Murray will do well against Roddick like he always does but it will be interesting to see if he copes with all the expectation from the British press and Federer will fight hard against Djokovic and win in 4 sets. Federer will win the final in 3 or 4 sets of a close Tennis match.
July 1, 200916 yr Murray won, he has to play Hewitt or Roddick in the semi's, it was practically a walk in the park for him, never dropped a service game.
July 1, 200916 yr Should see him in the final now against Federer as Roddick or Hewitt are no match for Murray and Haas will be ousted be the Fedexpress O and Murray did lose his serve in the first game of the second set. Edited July 1, 200916 yr by Steve69
July 1, 200916 yr Murray really should beat Roddick, his style just plays really well against his. If you take serve out of the equation, Murray's game is vastly superior. Even with the serve, Murray probably has the best return of serve in the world right now, which will neutralise its effects.
July 1, 200916 yr It looks a near cert Fed v Murray final. But if Federer plays at his best he should easily beat the young Scot in the Final on grass, based on their form so far in the tournament.
July 2, 200916 yr It has to be said, that Murray is looking pretty awesome.... If anyone can stand in the way of Federer getting this unprecedented 15 Grand Slam thing, it's him.... And, frankly, he's looking better and more "up for it" than Henman ever did.... I always got the impression that with Henman, it didn't really seem all that vital to him, with Andy, I can kind of see the sheer hunger and "nothing less than winning will do" attitude.... I dont usually go in for the press hype, but Murray really does look like the Brit Player most likely to succeed in a long, LONG time....
July 2, 200916 yr I would be extremely surprised if Murray failed to progress to the final now. His game matches up really well against Roddick, and even if the American isn't suffering from fatigue I still see the Scot winning in 4 sets. Murray was rather poor from the baseline in the early stages of his QF but he definitely improved as the match developed. His serving though was great, much better than it was against Wawrinka. Federer has still been the most impressive man in the tournament, however, and I fully expect him to clinch his 6th Wimbledon crown come Sunday.
