The thing is she actually sounded better than the backing singers throughout, they were appalling and I don't understand why they were turned up so loud. Her vocal was better than anything from 2008!

It's still stuck at #14 on US iTunes. Looks like the performance didn't help much. :(

I don't really know what to make of the performance. I wasn't expecting amazing vocals because the song itself is leathered with autotune..so I'd say average. :)

It's been at #11 more than once today so it must be close. So near to breaking the top 10 again! For my own sanity I should probably remove the US iTunes feed from my favourites...

Does anybody have a tracklisting yet for the UK physical CD? Hope we get some good remixes by cahill among others.

I don't know if Cahill's mix will be on the CD single but with any luck either it or the Friscia & Lamboy remix will make it as opposed to the Gucci Mane 'remix'.

 

In other news Obsessed is at #11 on US iTunes right now with the remix at #135. Both positions are her highest in weeks. :D

Now that I'm totally obsessed with that song, could someone tell me what are the best remixes for this song ?

Mariah Carey–despite idiotic postings elsewhere–is gearing up for her big new CD release.

 

Mariah feels so strongly about "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" that she's even re-hired the PR powerhouse that made her second-stage career such a success. She's back with Cindi Berger of PMK HBH. It was Berger who made her "Emancipation of Mimi" the biggest hit of Mariah's career. Smart move. Of course, that means both Mariah and Whitney Houston are now being repped by the same PR company. PMK's Kristen Foster is handling Whitney with my old pal, Jill Fritzo.

 

"Memoirs" was scheduled for an August 25th release, then moved to September 15th. Now it's set for September 29th. If the regular Grammy deadline had been in place–September 30th–Mariah would have made it. But the unfortunate early deadline of August 31st cut her off. So she has some slack time to get "Memoirs" just right. The first single from Mariah's CD will not be "Obsessed"–that was just a summer trifle, and it was a lot of fun. The real first official single is said to be a powerhouse ballad along the lines of "Vision of Love."

Of course it will... it's already on TV and radio. Whatever happens in the US it'll be our pre-album single.
