Overstaged would you care to wipe the drool from your computer screen dear? :manson:

No God = no right or wrong. No need to act "right", since "righteousness" is just a man made fiction. No solid basis for a behaviour, except convenience.

And so did Isaac Newton, Plato, Augustinus, and dozens of other genius of humanity, who believe there was a God.

What is this $hit that morality is derived from a religion or its ‘writings’? :manson:

Our capacity for a shared morality comes from genetics; altruistic genes naturally selected through human evolution gives people natural empathy for others. How many people would commit murder, rape or theft if they were presented with definitive proof god didn’t exist? Not many.

There is a moral code that continually evolves within society and it is that which informs which parts of the bible Christians accept and which parts they now dismiss. HYPOCRITES. :D

Of course if you’re telling us that you believe the bible word for word in its entirety then you can be rightly pilloried for being a homophobic, racist, xenophobic bigot.

I don´t need to sugest that... your actions prove by themselves. Atheists in this forum are bitter... there is not need for me to sugest that cause it´s plain. Just read the first post on this topic. It´s basically a bitter cry-out. A mourn. With manifestations like that, it´s really not necessary to say anything.

My existence is based on the same thing as was Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Mother Thereza, etc.

Your existence is based on denying what they lived for. That´s pretty much like living in the shadows of someone else...

LOLOL

You clearly wouldn’t last long as a detective or a physic. <_<

I am fully aware that Father Christmas and the Loch Ness Monster don’t exist, however my life hardly lacks meaning as a result of that knowledge. It just proves the ludicrous nature of the logic behind your assertions.

By any stretch of the imagination your ARROGANCE is hardly in the spirit of your supposed amazing Christian beliefs. :nocheer:

Oh yes, and funny that you'd make the connection between religion and morality - are you basically saying there that you would commit evil acts if a supreme being wasn't looking? Yeah, very virtuous, being nice JUST BECAUSE GOD'S WATCHING...but no, moral atheism just can't be accepted, even though it's far more virtuous, just because our lives are 'meaningless' Funny that the most pious states - Texas, Alabama etc. - have some of the highest crime rates, eh? ;)

Seriously Overstaged, read the God Delusion - your arguments are destroyed by pure logic...if you truly are secure about your faith, you shouldn't be afraid to read it.

It's pretty much certain that there WAS once a man called Jesus Christ... I remember hearing there's more solid historical evidence that he existed than there is that Elizabeth I existed.

Poppycock, there’s no concrete evidence for the existence of Jesus whatsoever.

There's no concrete evidence, just like there's no concrete evidence of the existence of almost an figure in early modern history like Elizabeth I - there's nothing surviving with strands of her DNA on for example. If we're going to make absolute concrete evidence a necessary qualification for saying someone existed, there's little point even studying almost any historical figure earlier than about the mid-19th century. Other historical sources such as personal accounts and documentation has to suffice to prove a figure existed, and there is this for both Elizabeth I and Jesus Christ, even if there's no "concrete" proof.

I'll repeat I'm obviously not saying Jesus was definitely the Son of God - there's every chance he was just a completely normal human-being who was charismatic and built up a following. But to not even acknowledge the likelihood that the guy existed makes undermines the argument.

danny danny danny..... qe1 DID exist, there is 100% proof, family trees, writings, pictures, contemporary accounts, coins, and if you go with a spade to westminster abbey ....you could dig her up!

the concrete evidence for qe1 is a million times greater then any mythical character called 'jesus' as in the biblical person (jesus is a common name in them times)

...and how on EARTH is wanting empirical evidence a shallow and empty principle? That's basically saying that anything that can be proven is only done so in a 'shallow and empty sense' - so what, we go around believing what the hell we want just because science is 'shallow and empty'? How is it AT ALL shallow and empty?

are decried as trying to force our beliefs upon you all. Pure f***ing hypocrisy or what?

 exactly!

after all ... how can science be shallow and EMPTY, when it presents hard facts? but belief that offers nothing but................. belief.... isnt shallow and empty?...as i see it the only emptiness here IS belief! they believe it because they want too... scared or are incapable of facing the facts that our lives ARE meaningless, we WILL die, we have no purpose... we just temporarily exist, then nothing.

im very happy enjoying my full meaningful life (meaningful to ME, im not trying to buy my stairway to a non existant heaven, why waste your life on a dream based in....nothing! no evidence! pmsl)
