September 28, 200618 yr Quotes *Once someone asked me three words that best describe me and I said 'Loud, Louder, and Loudest'! *I wear glasses, have a big scar, I sing loud, and I am blond. I'm sorry! *I'm a fighter by nature and nothing will ever change that. *I don't think I'm meant for this. I think I need to be a therapist or something. *I live a very real life. *I was told that I needed to look a certain way, to sound a certain way, to move a certain way and all I wanted to do was just sing. I couldn’t understand why this was such an issue. *it just took a while before I got the fever to actually sing. *I've worked with people who tried to get me to sing like Celine Dion or LeAnn Rimes, but it didn't sound right -- it was like taking away my character. *I am a Freak of Nature, I’ve always gotten looks of shock (or horror), depending on how you look at it, because I gather the way that I look doesn’t match the way I sound. So this album is basically about those types of people -- freaks. I guess you could say that I’m telling their story as well as mine. *It was a very liberating record to make, I’ve always liked the idea that some of my favorite artists have been "freaks," or non-conformists, and that gave me courage, a constant reminder in the studio to make the record the way that I wanted. *We had two months to make the record, and that was good by me. We had no time to second guess or to get cute, so the writing and recording was spontaneous, raw and direct. *For those with Crohn’s, holding in our emotions or masking her unhappiness fuels the symptoms, What is seen as a curse for some, is a gift for me, because it has helped me to discover who I really am as a person. The disease has given me a clear window to my own emotions, which causes me to live each moment and to understand exactly how I’m behaving in a particular situation. *It's not just one sound that carries you through Freak of Nature, I find it to be a playful recording with attitude. It's strong and powerful to me, but in the end people should make up their own minds. *It was called The Cut. It's like an MTV version of Star Search. That's how I describe it, and the only thing I can say is this whole year and a half has been the biggest fairy tale story. Before I did The Cut, I was on unemployment. I stopped singing. I was discouraged. It was everything. I got fired from a job for the first time.
September 28, 200618 yr I have so many favourite quotes, and as i haven't read all the pages before this one.. I pray that these haven't been posted before!! “Today is a lovely day, yesterday forgotten, and tomorrow ignored. I plan to enjoy this moment, for time is like virginity; once lost it cannot be re-gained, so enjoy its every second in the hope that looking back on its loss, regrets are non-existent.†(Does anyone know when she actually said this? I love it!) and another... Stefan Raab: "You had big hits!!" Anastacia (looking at her breasts) : "I had big hits??" :D
September 28, 200618 yr *"'Life is about living. It's not about yesterday. It's about today. Most people don't, understand that part of enjoying what you're doing on this earth, is to enjoy the moment you're in. Instead of worrying about the moment you've just had, or stressing about the moment you're gonna have. And then all the moments you could've experienced so beautifully have passed you by. And you can't get them back. Honey, it's all about the REAL world." *''I' ma single busy bunny'' *''At the end of the day you know you know-life must go on'' *''I wear them all the time. I wear them on stage, God I wear them when I pee, is the reality. I can't see the toilet paper without them.''(talking about her eyesight) *"Look, 12 o'clock, Loony Ana comes up, her nickname is Lana..." *"I filled my tour manager's bed with whipped cream, yoghurt and tampons...but I'm so un-rock n roll I even cleaned it up." She is so funny and REAL! :D
September 28, 200618 yr I love that first quote of yours sprockLv :) Very cool. Here is another... "I really... you know I've got some really great fans. They are so dedicated and they are so kind. I really, I must admit, not one Loonybird!"
September 28, 200618 yr My three total favourites EVER... "I filled my tour manager's bed with whipped cream, yoghurt and tampons...but I'm so un-rock n roll I even cleaned it up." It was a facial salon in Beverly Hills, and I was a receptionist and got fired 'cause I was just a little bit too loud and wild. Ya know, you come to get a facial and I'm like, "Hi, how are ya?!" "They'd hear me, they'd like the way I sang and everything and they were like, "What a great little voice" or whatever, and then when they found out that I was a little blonde white girl, they were like, "Oh...."
September 28, 200618 yr Im trying to find the one where she is talking about the day she got sacked :P
September 29, 200618 yr She talks about that on the interview on 60 minutes in 2004 (channel 9 Australia) Have you got that Josh? I'll try listen to it over the weekend and quote her for you. You're right, its dam hilarious...
September 29, 200618 yr Okay.. I have been listening and writing. Here it is.... From the 60 Minutes interview in 2004. Channel 9 Australia. "While she may have been destined to be a star, it was only 7 years ago that she worked as a receptionist in Los Angeles. Peter: did you get the sack from that job? Ana: I got sacked from a facial salon cos I think my voice was too penetrating the massage tables. I was like 'OKAY!!' you know all of a sudden someones like 'OH My GOD' you know. Peter: Next for their nails... Ana: exactly. I'd be like 'YOU LOOK FREAKIN GREAT' I just wasn't quite the massage girl at the front desk thing. You know you have to be very quiet. (Whispers) 'Thankyou very much for coming to the salon...thats great, great.' I wasn't really that kinda chick. I didn't really know she was firing me either. I thought, she was like 'we're gonna have to let you go' and I was like 'where?' (Laughs) You know i was like, 'you want me to pick something up from the store, what do you want?' Peter: well she probably whispered it to you.. Ana: umm she was very very Beverley Hills, the jaw clenching kinda chick!" So there you have it... :P If anyone wants me to upload the video of this interview (not in this section of course) but yes if you want me to upload it, I am very happy to. Just let me know. Its a great interview!!
