So this is a strictly Nordic artists only chart? So if Lady GaGa, for example, was no. 1 in Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark she wouldn't appear in this chart because she's American?

How is this chart compiled anyways? How is Donkeyboy 'Ambitions' no. 1 when it was no. 1 in Norway last summer. It's no longer top 10 in Norway and isn't charting in any of those four countries top 10 singles charts.

 

The Rumour Said Fire is currently no. 1 in Denmark? Why isn't this song in the latest top 10 Nordic chart? In Norway, their (extremely dull) winning Eurovision entry 'My Heart Is Yours' by Didrik Solli-Tangen is no. 3? In Finland, their new no. 1 is Fintelligens 'Mika Boogie'. Plus, as already mentioned Erik Gronwall has been sharing the top 2 in Sweden with Lady GaGa 'Bad Romance' for the last two months with 'Higher'.

 

Just interested in knowing how this chart is compiled.

To enter this Nordic Chart a song must have a video and that isn´t the case for any of those songs mentioned at this moment in time except for Fintelligens who entered the Finnish chart just last week meaning that an entry in this chart is guaranteed shortly.

The biggest hits in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark primarily according to charts. However this doesn´t necessarily mean that the number 1 must be popular in all four countries as this occurs rarely. So, then its up to the song that performs best in a specific country in comparison with other nordic hits in other countries.

I`m not aware of such a website but "Bad Boys" has sold just over 630,000 copies in the UK to-date and became the ninth best selling single of 2009 there. To find sales figures for a particular song I recommend that you simply google information about the single. The single is doing relatively well even in the Nordic countries after reaching number number 6 in Sweden, 7 in Norway and 11 in Finland although it has dropped a few places in Norway and Finland.

How do you determine which song gets to be no. 1? Is this based on sales/radio airplay? If so, does that mean singles sales are higher in Norway and that's why Donkeyboy is no. 1 over other tracks?

The chart is primarily based on the singles chart for each of the four countries but occasionally reference to airplay may be made. Let me reiterate; Often its up to the song that performs best in a specific country in comparison with other Nordic hits in other Nordic countries. Donkeyboy´s "Ambitions" did spend a total of 13 weeks on top of the Norwegian singles chart and consequently has become the second best selling single in Norway ever. The song was still in the top 10 at the beginning of January and has received a significant amount of airplay in both Norway and Sweden, Sweden were this song has just raced up to number 3 this week!
