June 15, 200916 yr The revised sales for 1994- 1996 can be worked out, if you take the original sales from Hit Music / Music Week year-end charts and deduct the following percentages off the original sales you can get the revised sales. 1994 26% lower 1995 20% lower 1996 13% lower - not sure if this appiles to the whole of 1996, but certainly the first two quarters - the last quarter of 1996 could be exactly the same as original.
June 16, 200916 yr The revised sales for 1994- 1996 can be worked out, if you take the original sales from Hit Music / Music Week year-end charts and deduct the following percentages off the original sales you can get the revised sales. 1994 26% lower 1995 20% lower 1996 13% lower - not sure if this appiles to the whole of 1996, but certainly the first two quarters - the last quarter of 1996 could be exactly the same as original. The actual differences varied through each year, generally becoming smaller. For most of 1994 the difference was greater than 27%, but between 25% and 26% in the last quarter, and still about the same for the first 3 quarters of 1995. The approximately 20% difference occurs in the fourth quarter. You are right about 1996. The difference was 13-14% in the first three quarters, but less than 2% in the last quarter, but this difference was versus a muliplier of 16 rather than the 17 of 1994 and 1995. The defined universe was roughly the same size in early 1996 compared with late 1995.
