Rock goddess Pink proved she's made of the tough stuff when her bungee broke in the middle of one of her high-flying acrobatics-inspired stunts.

Performing one of her last songs in the first leg of her Funhouse tour in Brisbane, the Cirque du Soleil-trained singer sent the audience into a frenzy when she almost fell to the stage.

Pink had to make an emergency slide back to the stage on a long piece of silk from the heights of the Boondall Entertainment Centre on Tuesday.

Pink was quick to tell fans the mishap had been frightening.

After the show she posted on her Twitter networking site: "Tonights (sic) show was awesome! Audience was great - even when the bungees broke and I had to do the emergency silk climb that was so scary!!!"

A concert-goer said Pink was high in the air when the bungee broke.

"A pink silk was thrown down to her from above," said the concert-goer, 22.

"She had to wrap her foot around the silk, then unclip two clips where she was held to the bungee and then slide down to the stage on the silk.

"It was amazing because she kept singing and basically we were left wondering if it was a part of the show."

Pink, who is here with her husband, motocross rider Carey Hart, will play 58 gigs across Australia, playing to more than 600,000 fans.
