Pop fans are to be offered the chance to get their hands on a key piece of musical heritage - the Beatles' first contract, it has been revealed.

A competition is being launched in which contestants pay to guess the value of the contract, with the winner keeping the prized document.

The fab four's prospective manager Brian Epstein offered to sign the band after being blown away watching them perform in Liverpool's historic Cavern Club, and John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr signed the contract in 1962.

Interesting, I didn't know that contract still existed. Good thing they signed it when they did or we wouldn't be typing on here.
