might be a good place to find entries...then again, they have a completely different sort of member base on there...there doesn't seem to be any male/foreign bias like there is on here, in fact it's probably a lot harder to guage what would do well on there...

do we reckon Keane's Crystal Ball could win the BJSC?

maybe FSR Rontvia and Eledan should sign up as a combined country, Rontvia-Eledan, and see if we can produce a winner...or get Mdice to sign up and slaughter the competition!

I will be bringing you down most of the time :heehee:

Crystal Ball?!? LOL

Let's hope i can catch up the almighty Rontvia with the number of wins this contest :kink: :kink:

who knows, you could equal our total, or perhaps Mdice will pull further ahead of us all, or maybe even a dark horse will pull something out of the bag :o could Ashton finally get their maiden win!?!

if only you all knew what I do :kink:

you even linked it to my video on youtube :heehee: I wondered why the views had risen suddenly recently!

it's interesting to look at the differences/similarities on there...Bokia managed to win with Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer, a song that DNQ'd on BJSC, and last month's winner was Jennifer Lopez's Ain't It Funny!?! that would struggle to reach the final on here

what's your NSC entry history Sabre? do you perform better on there than on BJSC?

My best result so far is 5th in the Final. I think I'm a bit hit and miss at NSC more so than BJSC where I'm usually reliable at being average.

I'll make a list of my entries at NSC:

NSC 24 - The Bird and The bee - Again and Again - 15th in semi (DNQ)

NSC 25 - Stacie Orrico - Stuck - 20th in the final

NSC 26 - Chevelle - Vitamin R - 16th in the semi (DNQ)

NSC 27 - Vanilla Ninja - Liar - 5th in the final

NSC 28 - Marie Digby - Say it again - 24th in the final

NSC 29 - Evanescence - Everybody's fool - 22nd in the final

NSC 30 - Anna Abreu - Vinegar - 21st in the final (It was kinda annoying as I came 3rd in the semi )

NSC 31 - Yelle - A cause des garcons - 6th in the final

NSC 32 - Architecture in Helsinki - That Beep - 24th in the final

NSC 33 - Gavin Mikhail - Fight the sky - 15th in the semi (DNQ)

NSC 34 - Agnes Carlsson - Release me - 13th in the final

NSC 35 - The Bird and the bee - I hate Camera - 19th in the Semi (DNQ)

NSC 36 - Kate Miller-Heidke - Caught in the crowd - 19th in the semi (DNQ)

NSC 37 - Armin van Buuren ft. Jaren - Unforgivable - 22nd in the final

NSC 38 - Florence and the Machine - Rabbit Heart - 6th in the final

NSC 39 - Scent - Up and Down - 29th in final (Dead last  )

NSC 40 - Beautiful Small Machines - Robots in love - ???

Dalisska also won the 80's Spinoff and I'm in the middle of hosting the 90's spinoff now.

I've occasionally borrowed songs I've heard here. :P It used to bother me but now I just think if it feels right I should send a song I've heard here anyway if that's the song I'm loving at the time.

oh my god, Agnes only came 13th there  Scent was a great entry, brilliant song which I'd completely forgotten about until you posted this, I have it on single :D I wonder how that would do on BJSC...Yelle did a lot better there than on here I see :o it seems that poor Gavin Mikhail doesn't have success anywhere :snif:

Yelle came 10th in the semi 1 point away from not qualifying, so it was quite a shock when she came 6th in the final.

I guess the 'being in the wrong semi' scenario can happen over there too...

It was because of NSC that I discovered Kate Miller-Heidke - Words

So it was because of NSC that everyone here discovered it too. :P

It would be so cool if we had a special contest where countries from both BJSC and NSC competed together. Someone should set up communications between NSC & BJSC. :P

By the way NSC has a wikia in case anyone wants to look at NSC's history/rob it's songs :kink:

Also "not ready to make nice" by the Dixie chicks came 17th in the final of NSC 17 :o

are you the only one that participates in both contests here now that Bokia are inactive? you should make it happen :o

wow! I didn't even copy them with that, I can't even remember where I discovered Miss Blue to be honest...great minds think alike, but great contests vote very differently apparently

Maybe, I wonder if it would actually work though.......would anyone in BJSC enter if there was such a contest though....

We should totally have an 80s and 90s spin off

Kim Leoni - Medicine came 21st in NSC 34 too.

So you really can't judge how a song would do in the oppisite contest.

That other contest looks nice as well, tbh.

Is it frowned upon to join that one as well if you are already participating here? :kink:

A very interesting read.

Most interesting knowing two songs on my lengthy shortlist that I considered using for the BJSC did very well in the NSC.

I guess if I was to pluck either out as a future selection in the next couple of contests they would look rather uninspired now.

Hell, maybe I should run a random contest of say 20 songs that I considered using but then never got round to using them even though most of them would probably have been more inspired choices than Natasha Beddingfield - Again, where other nations vote on what they think I should have used???
