Breaking news from Los Angeles, Michael Jackson, has died of a heart attack at UCLA Medical Center....He collapsed in a rented home in L.A......it's still unclear at this point as to what caused his cardiac arrest, leading to his subsequent death.....

People just had an issue with you REPEATING yourself in a somewhat unnecessary tone in the thread, insulting people for mourning what they believe to infact be the 'King Of Pop'. That is all.

Having read some parts of the lounge thread it reads as parody of the Springfield righteous mob from The Simpsons.

Spot on.... I'm not gonna pretend to think that Jacko was a wonderful individual, when he clearly wasn't..... I used to admire him as a kid, and I thought he did a couple of great albums in the early 80s, unfortunately, I think he just totally lost the plot to become Wacko Jacko, the media Freakshow, and I wont pretend to think otherwise..... And I think that people giong behind Rob's back to admin purely to get him a temporary ban is just plain vicious and unnecessary......

Most of these hypocrites and c/unts who are now bumming him totally are the very same people who were going after him when he was alive..... <_< Now, all of a sudden, it's like "Saint Jacko"..... Fukk that sh!t..... A horrid, horrid creepy man when he was alive doesn't all of a sudden deserve elevation to virtual Godhood.... It was exactly the same with Jade Goody, she gets called every name under the sun (and every name BY "The Sun") when she's alive, then all of a sudden, they all love her when she's dead..... I would say that your reply to Chris was a lot worse than Rob posting a few jokes..... Not saying I disagree with what you said mind, but the general tone was certainly far more acidic than posting a couple of jokes..... And, it's not as if Jacko himself can even be hurt anymore by whatever jokes people tell about him, so, WTF....? I'm saddened by any death and shocked by the suddenness of Michael Jackson's passing but as a non-fan, because I never really listened to their music enough to appreciate it, I've never been drawn to purchase any Jackson CD in the past, so I won't be rushing out now.

 

I've never understood why people do that.

 

Is it a sudden realisation that the deceased's music was truly great and it outweighs all the media smoke and mirrors? A need to fill gaps in a collection perhaps?

 

Is it a desire to show support for a grieving family and also provide the heirs with enough money to carry on the lifestyle they're used to?

 

Is it a selfish move, hoping to sell them on later when they become more rare ?

The second..? I sincerely hope not, about the only people who'll profit off any new album sales will be Jacko's creditors..... He was doing all these shows at the 02 primarily to pay off massive debts....
