Anyone hear about this yet? Anyone care? No line up announced yet, apart from the two biggest stars, Benny and Bjorn! And just maybe the girls might pop along too (wishful thinking I guess!) Read about it and book tickets here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/events/thank-you-for-the-music/ Got my tickets :teresa:

Weather the hear say was true or not I'm still hopping they would have a concert because I really miss this band.

The line-up has been announced, and it's actually quite cool, almost indie in places:

Lulu :heehee:

Chaka Khan

The Feeling  (never saw them live before either!)

Sharleen Spiteri  (ditto)

VV Brown :w00t:

Elaine Paige :kink:

Jodie Prenger :nocheer:

Nerina Pallot

Christian John Billet

The Benny Andersson Band :cheer:

Beth Nielsen Chapman :D

Kerry Ellis

Marti Pellow

Jason Donavan :kink:

Oh, and the cast of Mamma Mia  Three weeks away! :w00t:

Not sure how Kerry Ellis will sound doing Abba, but she could pretty much sing the phone book and sound incredible, so I'm sure she'll be the highlight!

Who is she though?

Sounds like a deeply lame affair to me..... ABBA were fabulous, but they're in their 60s now...and some things are best left well alone... and ABBA absolutely should never ever return.

This half-baked concert, full of nobodies, wannabes and rancid old never-weres (Elaine Paige?!? Marti Pellow?!!) is just an embarrassment... almost as much of a dark cloud over ABBA's legacy as the vile Mamma Mia nonsense.

It is put together by Radio 2, to be fair :P And how dare you dis Elaine "And Barbara Dickson" Paige :o

But for me, tbh, it's just my opportunity to be in the presence of the legends Bjorn and Benny, and of other people who love their music as much as I do.

Kerry played the joint lead in Wicked for 2 years in London and New York ... also played Fantine in Les Mis and Meat in We Will Rock You before that.

Oh right! I guess she will be in the new B&B musical Kristina then...

Maybe :o Last I heard she was being lined up to play Ursula in the West End production of The Little Mermaid, but I don't know if that'd ever happen... we shall see!

Have a great day, either way!

Do you think The little mermaid will come to london? I really want to see it! I heard that it will replace The Lion King.. I don't see why we shouldn't get it or why other Disney films got to the westend before it.. seems strange considering it is the film that saved disney animation/ it being highly loved!

That's an incredibly disappointing line up considering it's for Abba. :( You'd have thought more of the big time stars would have done this. Oh well, there are a couple of good acts, seeing the concert is about 2 minutes away from where I live I could probably here the performances out the window. :P

I do hope so ... I heard it would replace TLK too, as it's a Disney owned venue. The only other thing I could imagine them replacing it with would be Beauty and the Beast again. But TLM would be good ... except I don't think it was hugely well recieved by critics in the States (audiences loved it, though...). Maybe they'd have to make a few adjustments. It's on tour in the States right now, which would give them chance to try some new things out.

It'll either come here and do well, or do a Tarzan, which skipped the UK all together and ended up touring Holland and Belgiu

Hey Tom - don't knock Jodie Prenger. I went to see Oliver (rather reluctantly) a week or so ago ... and she was absolutely FANTASTIC! I don't even like musicals! Omid Djalili was great too!

Cool :) Tbh I think my problem is that I still see here as a reality TV star... Not that that put me off Alexndra Burke (but actually I'm not as crazy for Bad Boys as some others here...)
