No idea - he just looked us up and down and said our tickets could be upgraded. Maybe we looked like people who would enjoy that kind of thing. Which is worrying really. It was something that was even more fun if you stood up and danced.

Glad you enjoyed it, Meg. It must be great living close enough to the city to be able to go to the shows without

the hassle of a long train journey and probably an overnight stay.

It is. I can't be away for long because of my Mum, so I'm unlikely to get to see an evening show or be able to go any distance. I wont see many shows in the future. There are always problems. With my father-in-law, my husband could take a turn though neither of them liked that but my Mum will only let me put her to bed or get her up. It's very restricting but I'd rather that than not have her.

I've just realised that I haven't collected our free spectacles from Sainsbury's, so we won't be able to

watch the 3D TV programmes this week.

Haven' found any yet, so can't tell you, Sue
Peter Kay is appearing at the MEN Arena next April. Think I might try to get tickets. He's a 'home grown' lad. Sue

You are very good doing Christmas shopping Sue.

I've just ordered some gig tickets for my son...the gig isn't till next September :o

...but he missed out seeing them this year so I decided to surprise him.

Not thought for anyone else yet...

My son has just produced his Christmas list. I don't even like to think about Christmas.
Plumber has now postponed job until next week, 'probably'! I hate plumbers!!!! Don't even want a new boiler now after what's been mentioned on here. :( Sue

But Sue, your boiler may not be as old as ours. We had the present one complete with new hot water cylinder and

cold header tank (the indirect system) installed in late 1992. Before that we had the direct system with the previous

boiler. My daughter has the condenser type and has had trouble with it (her house is much newer than ours).

Mum has been told every year for the last 15 that she should think about a new boiler. She has occasionally thought about it - but not for long.
There's an awful lot of hammering and drilling coming from the back bedroom. Ron is installed building his wardrobes. Dare I go and have a look? Sue

Oh yes do and then if he's made a good job send him up to me....mine arrive tomorrow :D
Are your wardrobes installed yet, Pam? Rob seems to be doing very well Sue. Not an easy job.
sighs..went to see evita last night..it was quite an eye opener. I have to say honestly I enjoyed gtwt more, and husband said he prefered several gwtw songs more than those in evita, also he pointed out how gwtw was panned for the mimes, when exactly the same thing was done in evita - in fact he commented that he found he would have liked it more if they had done the same sort of commentary as they did in gwtw, rahter than have ja, forget his name singing through out like a spare part. however the actors were good - I kept replaceing certain parts with D obviously, as husband said he knew one part I would be fantasising, who looked quite similar to D in stance and mustache mode..LOL I do fear it is height that stands in D's way, as I could see him in several roles apart from the fact eh may have been to tall and commanding. i came away a bit bemused tbh, there were rushed bits and bits in that seemed to have no place, poor girl who sang anohter suitcase- best song and voice of evening, but weirdly, had no idea who she was, or why I should be interested in her being kicked out...only saw her the once,

Hello Pip.I am going to see Evita next week. It is one of the few shows that I havent seen before. Am looking forward to it but think I will be disappointed like you,. the story background doesnt really appeal to me. However Seamus who is playing Che guvara I think was in the tv show where they were looking for someone to play Joseph amnd Lee mead won. I thought Seamus was really good in that so shall expect him to make an impression. Also next week am going to see my local boy Glyn kerslake wsho as ive said before has played several westend .leads viz phantom, les mis, miss saigon etc. He is appearing down here and also has concerts lined up with philamonic orchestras in belfast and birmingham and a one night show in knightsbridgeat the pizza concert room with shona lindsay, an evening which I ha
