Hope your mum feels better today Meg. It's so hard seeing your parents grow old. Sue

She's got no right to. I'll be the older generation if anything happens to her. That's not allowed.
hard to accept getting older and not being able to do all you once managed easily.
I am one of the older generation in our family now. It's frightening, where has the time gone? Sue
I'm going to make it skip ti my kids. It amuses them. Yesterday, the laptop did an automatic update I didn't even notice and I lost the internet. Today it wouldn't work. I went away, came backand it said I had a new usb connection and a new dvd player. I hadn't. I closed down, started up again and was told that windows had loaded some software. Closed down again and this evening I have the internet back. I thought I'd lost it for good.

Glad it's back :)

I missed my hair appointment today.

Thought it was 4:30 and it was 3:45pm...... :(

Anyway they are doing it tomorrow :) .

I really can't understand why I got the time wrong :(

My daughter is up this weekend for the night.

We are hoping to go look at my new home......I'm supposed to move Tuesday!!!!!

Still loads to pack.

Glad you got the internet back. How weird though Meg

Pam you have too much in your mind

Glad your back with us Meg.

Your moving day seems to have come round very quickly Pam. Hope all goes well, you must be really excited. Sue

The insurance company say they aren't responsible for the work on Mum's roof. It seems it's a cheap, quick thing to repair but the damage done by water while we waited for them is quite extensive. Why did the man say that only the one problem wasn't covered and that they would be back to see to the second. I'm trying to find a builder before it gets worse. I'm really annoyed.

It hasn't come quick enough....but it's also quite frightening the thought of being on my own

....I'm just hoping that I can breathe easy once I get settled and start a new life

Things seem to have moved very quickly for you, Pam. Three more days! I hope the move goes smoothly

and that you soon settle in..........it will seem strange at first, but you will soon acclimatise, and just think,

you will have only yourself to please re food, going out with friends, choosing what to watch on T.V. etc.

And the internet and telephone wiil be at hand. Will you have a house-warming?

Oh dear, Meg, one problem after another, but it will all be sorted in time. Slap some damp sealer on the

wall and coat it with emulsion (hope it's not papered). How is your Mum coping? I hope she is not too

stressed by it all.

Sue, I'm right there with you as one of the older generation in our family! Oh to turn back the clock..........

Meg and Pam I hope things get sorted for you both. It's just like I said Meg, with insurance companies you never seem to be covered for what you want to claim for. I'm still in a wrangle with an insurance firm after my fall in school and it's now four and a half years down the line. Sue

Hope the move goes smoothly Pam

and hope you get your roof sorted without much more hassle Meg

Has anyone succumbed to Merlin, Strictly or the X Factor, I'm afraid I have? Quite impressed with some of the over 25 boys this year. Apparently X Factor is winning in the ratings by a long way. Sue
No, I've seen a bit of x factor as it's Mum's choice. She's always chosen strictly before but since older ladies aren't considered right as judges however skilled they are, obviously older ladies are not part of the target market.

I watched Merlin Friday and Saturday....I wouldn't be too upset if I missed it.

Aghhhhhhhhhhh.....big move in the morning.

The exchange of contracts finally happened today.

I've forgotten to clean the oven.

Just done the fridge now.

I have no landline or broadband for about 7 days, so I have bought a dongle...we'll see how that goes.

Thank goodness for mobiles.

Good luck in your new home, Pam. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. (I'll forbear to ask about the dongle)

I watched the first episode of Merlin but found it a let-down somehow, so didn't watch the second.

Have been watching Strictly on Fridays and Saturdays, and X-factor on Sundays. Can't record as the VCR is being awkward.

I agree there are some to watch in the over 25s, but let's see how they progress. Sometimes they turn out to be disappointing.

The audition songs may have been continuously practised and polished for months, and with new material they struggle. It

will be interesting to see how they get on.

Nina, there is a youtube of Stacey's original audition. I see she is through to the final twentyfour.

Thank goodness you don't do that everyday!!

I have some wonderful friends who helped all day.

As 1 had to go another one came.

Got the lounge, dining room, bathroom and my bedroom sorted + the bed down in the spare room, even the washer plumber in.

Still a million boxes everywhere, still deciding what's going where and do I really need that!!

Collected my dogs this morning...they went all round sniffing...now fast asleep either end of the settee.

Must take them out for a walk soon....no garden now to send them up.

Can't solve the aerial problem but got the dvd working so I can catch up on them...when not emptying boxes.

The mouse on my main PC had stopped working and the dongle wont work on it just the laptop...which is a pain for the villa things.

Meg's on her way home......hope you didn't hit lots of traffic.

I'm pleased it all went well, Pam, and I hope you will be happy in your new home.
