Well I've just come in from clearing a path through the snow from back door to gate and front door and down my front pavement.

Put the kettle on turn to look out of the window and.........HUGE snow flakes falling!

I think I will be walking to work this afternoon. The side streets are so bad.

Not seen so much snow at this time of the year for years.

You must be one of the few lucky areas Meg. Our daughter was hoping to travel down from Durham today but there are blizzard conditions on the motorway. Sue
it is beautiful round here, an d fine if you dont need to go out - luckily hubby has done some walking to the shops - car is safe on drive, not a hope of getting out, the hill is an ice rink, but last night was havoc, our hills are impassable, so loads of people abandoning cars and walking - rather nice to see actually, like old days even if some had ot sleep in John Lewis, or in their cars, our area was one huge gridlock as all ways out were snow bound. But heaven knows where the gritters are no signs, so round here is impossible due to hills,

I'm so glad we don't have that here. I'd not be able to get Mum out at all. I spent the afternoon Christmas shopping, I've never left it this late before but at least it takes my desire to buy something more awayh.

I saw this on the way to town today and thought it an excellant idea.

What a good idea, a husband creche!

We've got another severe weather warning for overnight! I do hope it doesn't happen, the roads and pavements are awful already and the main roads have only just got going again. It took Ron ages to dig the car out yesterday. I'm supposed to be at the hairdressers for 9.30am. Sue

We've been threatened with rain and I don't mind that. I'd hate to be one of you who are putting up with ice and snow.

I was able to drive the car to work today.

On the way home it had started to freeze so I have parked on the flat on a street across from us as I need to deliver cards and presents tomorrow.

Happy Christmas everyone.
I have to wrap presents. Happy Christmas. I must remember to get the turkey sorted tonight. The lamb is already to cook.

Happy xmas everyone. I am fortunate, dont have to cook, going to my daughters.
I've got the turkey and lamb all ready - just need to cook them. In case I don't get on Happy Christmas everyone. That sounds like a song to me.

Car got stuck going to the hairdressers this morning after more over night snow. Luckily lots of neighbours came out and eventually got us moving again. Now the weight of the snow on the roofs is starting to bring the guttering down on the houses. Some of next doors has gone already and ours isn't looking good. On that note-------

Happy Christmas everyone! Hope you have a lovely day. Sue

What a nightmare you're having. Just found out an Aunt has fallen and fractured her elbow. Not a good thing to do. We're hoping she is released from hospital today at sometime.
Hope the snow melts soon and Meg - hope the aunt will be ok.
So do I - to both those. Mum's upset not being able to get to her or even phone her. I think the difficult bit is her 3 great grandchildren under 5yrs old. It'll make things a bit hard to keep things quiet for her. Mind you, kids excitement is what makes Christmas so good. She's the oldest of the group so Mum and the others are all worried. At least we don't have snow.
