We may have some light snow tomorrow. I wouldn't mind being left out though.

Feeling bad. The stray cat we brought indoors three weeks ago, was clawing at the door last night to go out. So I let her out and as it was gone midnight, went to bed but she wasn't on the step waiting for food this morning. I left food out and it went but could have been another cat. She wasn't on the step this evening and the food we put out is still there. Worried I did wrong letting her out when it is below freezing but didn't want her trying to break the door down.

She found you she wont be daft.

She's probably curled up with someone else for a while.

I found her. Silly cat had got herself shut in a shed. Luckily it was unlocked so I could let her out. She is all happy to be home again.

I'm glad. one of mine got locked into a garage for a week while the people went away. it had about an inch space under the steel door and we saw a paw sticking through it. We put water and cat food on a flat plate so he didn't starve.

That happened to my younger cat once when I was away. The cat got locked in a neighbour's garage but one which is used infrequently. I'm glad it was my son and not me got the red face asking for my cat back.

I've got a new (to me) netbook now and I'll try to post semi regularly.

I had a great time in Canada with my new grandaughter and of course her Mum and Dad. I managed to get back to the UK just before they got heir snow only to find it was pretty bad in Glasgow too. Then it was shop, shop, shop for Christmas and then a trip to Keswick from 29th to last night.

I've just picked the cats up from the cattery. I think I can finally draw a breath or two at home.

Welcome back, BT. I've really missed you.

A grand-daughter......congratulations! You must be thrilled.

But what a home-coming. Glasgow has had dreadful weather - snow, ice and very very low temperatures.

But at least Darius (now Campbell) is active again, you've just timed it right for that.

Congratulations on your new grand daughter BT.

Glad you have your cat back safe and sound Nina. Sue

That's brilliant. It's overwhelming welcoming a new baby, isn't it. We've still not had snow, just frosty nights and sunny days. They have promised us some snow overnight but I'll be happier if they're wrong again.

I'm glad to see you back, BT. Today is the last of our Christmas birthdays. Mum and her twin celebrate today. She enjoyed the meal. Enjoyed pushing her wheelchair half way to town and is now fast asleep.

Thanks, it's good to be back.

So glad your mother could get out for her birthday meal, megham. It's been such extreme weather all over the country. We've had snow lying today. I cleared the path as best I could but the residue is all iced up again and I'll have to go out and get a few messages before the shops shut.

I may go and restock. Just found out that Dave is away for 3 days. I wouldn't want to be caught short.
we have four inches here at present, and the snow is still falling fast- I think we are in for another period of being snowed in!!! unless the temp rises and the snow melts faster than it has done lately
We have light snow - you only know it's snowing by the small flakes caught in the cars headlights. May be a different story tomorrow though. At least you're used to be snowed in, pip. Are your schools open?

They're saying on the news that it was like this in winter 1979 but I don't remember having such a long spell where there was no thaw at all for so long nor rock solid ice building up on the side streets.

I bet the Scottish skiing centres are loving it though, provided their guests can actually get there.

Good to see you back BT.

Meg - glad your mum had a good birthday.

well its deeper here now than over xmas - and still falling. schools are shut. just went out to feed the dirds and squirrels..just hope the fish are OK the pond is completely covered in snow. luckily we put a sort of deck area over half of it earlier in the year, so that at least affords some shelter - cant really open a hole up as the ice was too thick even beofre this snow.
Did anyone watch or record the New Year's Eve programme on STV, with D in it?
