We have half an inch of snow - but it has just started snowing again. There are a lot of unhappy kids around here. The local junior schools are all open but the older kids are all at home as the senior schools all seem to be where the snow is deeper. It seems that within about 10 min drive they have quite deep snow. The younger ones think it's just not fair.

Our schools are closed, but I think it may be thawing just slightly. Some of the snow festooning the trees so beautifully

is blowing off in the breeze, whereas yesterday it was iced on. But we are still snowbound. Plenty of food in, though.

Did anyone watch or record the New Year's Eve programme on STV, with D in it?

Completely forgot about this, did anyone see it?

I watched it, you didn't miss much as it was just old clips although it did mention he was working on a new album and living in LA.

I too forgot all about this.

we have over ten inches of snow now - so completely snowed in - plus if it freezes tonight the bigger roads which are better will turn to sheet ice!! it is lovely though, away from the traffic and dirty sludged roads everything so so crisp and clean looking, we went for a lovely walk earlier

I'm having terrible problems with my internet connection over the last few days.....it's like it has hiccups, on and then off

Wonder if it has anything to do with the freezing weather

All our schools are closed as are the ones in the ajoining authorities. Buses are running on some major roads but not on the side ones and the postman hasn't managed to get through for two days. Our neighbour took my husband to the supermarket this morning in his 4by4 because all the other cars can't make it out of the street. My son and his girlfriend are supposed to be going up to the Lakes for a holiday this weekend, to Centre Parcs near Penrith, but I don't know if they are going to get there. Sue
i'm on a bus going home. Not too bad. A few schools were closed but a lot finished at lunch time.
We have proper snow now. The trees and the grass are covered. The kids are delighted as it may mean no school tomorrow. Just after lunch it started with big flakes that actually settled.
It's all right for the kids, they get a day off school. I still have to go to work.
It's one of the few times it's a benefit being a teacher. All the schools are closed today. The kids feel that's a lot fairer.

The sun is lovely today but has melted all the top of the snow. We're due more snow tonight so the pavements and roads should turn into skating rinks. Dave has decided that even if he went, no one else would be daft enough so he's staying put. He wouldn't like to be stuck in snow.

He's been great lately as my hands have seized up even more and he's been lifting things for me and opening and carrying things. I'd certainly miss him if he were away. I'll be glad when I've completed the treatments and am back to normal (well, normal for me). I have a new camera on it's way that I wont need to fiddle with which is surely an indication that there wont be any photo opportunities.

New camera on the way....knew you wouldn't give up till you got one

You'll be more than ready if there is an opportunity.

If I sort out how to use it!!!!! Dave has just found out that the place he was going to this weekend has actually called everything off. He's glad he'd already decided it'd be daft to go.
