Take That svengali Nigel Martin-Smith has formed a new boyband called As Bro.

According to The Sun, the five-piece are like a "northern" East 17. The group are currently promoting themselves with shows around Manchester.

"I searched for these lads on council estates all across the North West," said Martin-Smith. "I wanted them to be streetwise as well as having bags of personality, good voices and looking good in front of a camera.

"I haven't put together a boyband since Take That and I believe there is a huge opening for one that is relevant to today, not just one that sings big, slushy love ballads."

If JLS can make it to top 10 with that awful song, than this band can also :naughty: .

Perhaps is a dig, hehe....he might be not very happy not to be the manager anymore. At least TT make themself thier songs, wondering if any from this new band is good at songwriting or it will be more a JLS crossed with Westlife?

I'm out of the music loop badly....who/what is JLS??

I wonder how long this new boy band will keep Nigel on as 'manager'.....

JLS were the runners up in last year's X-Factor. They're a boyband - nice chaps - but musically - to me - they're just 'ok'. Having said that, they are probably the best 'group' that the X-Factor has ever had on.

This band of NMS's - bear in mind this article was originally around about a 8 - 12 months ago - so I'm assuming nothing has come of it.

I cant see his new band doing much at all as noirma said this story broke quite a while ago originally,im sure nigel is raging that take that cut him out as chances are he knows the millions he has lost this time and im sure jason is not his faveourite person as if i remember jason said he wouldnt do the take that re union if nigel was involved.

Nigel will never experience the success he had with take that, and his little dig if it was one is petty at the least as that what he pushed gary to do th emost when they started off.

That's Nigel's problem....since, if you you said before actually happened, he brought his being excluded from TT's latest tour, since, he bolloxed things up with the lads...

Can't see him getting on now with another Take That style boy band, anyhow...

Nigel did put alot into take that and it was a huge risk at the time for him and pressure probably played a part in how things panned out, but for Jason especially nigel gave him a very hard time and made him feel excluded at times, nigel seemed to have had a bad way and a very bad way of dealing with situations, when take that reformed they all had their owm say where as when they first started out they did what they were told as they wantedto be successfull and they were an awful younger, if nigel had been involved managing them second time round i dont think we would have the take that we have now and probably we have never got a new studio album as i think jason would have walked out and the band wouldnt have gone ahead that way.

As bad as he was, NMS was a damned sight better manager than the one E17 had. In his own way NMS did care for Take That and he's still partially responsible for their success now ... in the way he taught them all how to behave for the media and for their own success. I suppose in a way he had it easy in that he had five 'nice, ameniable and compliant' lads - but nevertheless he was good for them at the time.

I honestly don't know why NMS doesn't write a book about Take That from his point of view. Of all of them - his is the book I would most look forward to.

i would say alot of legalities would be the reason nigel has not done a book, i agree he did alot for take that and yes he was lucky they were all down to earth lads i suppose robbie was the only wild one in a way and i suppose that did come to a head which we all know now, east 17 manager i dont know alot about to be honest, what really happened with them???
