July 13, 200915 yr Author I will agree with Rob on 1 thing. Does this poor excuse of a thread have to be in the Sats forum? Sure i predicted top 10 (did someone actually go back to that thread to check what i predicted? Not judging or anything but nout better to do?) early on in the release but it soon became clear that wasnt going to happen. Anyone who still thought #1 was possible in those last few weeks before the release clearly wasnt paying much attention. why is this a 'poor excuse' for a thread? it was a genuine question being asked in a civilised way, i was wondering whether id missed something or whether or not a reality check was needed by 'fans', and tbh most of you were perfectly accepting that you were overly hopefull. yep, i checked what had been said, and yes, ive nowt better to do as im killing time at me mums!
July 13, 200915 yr It's so generic in comparison to the first 4 singles in my opinion that all had their own separate charm, be it the sample of If This Is Love, the brilliance of Up, the charm of Issues or the fun of Just Can't Get Enough. It's definitely their weakest single to date and although I like it, there's nothing to love about it, it's a bit soulless...not surprised that it missed the top 20
July 13, 200915 yr but its hardly negetive, just mildly derogatory whicvh would never have happened if this thread wasnt moved <_< The thread has nothing to do with the UK charts (in general), only the positions of the Saturdays, so it belongs to the Saturdays forum. Argument ended from my part :D PS: ...and I cba to edit and monitor the thread, so I leave this to the Sat mods :P
July 13, 200915 yr To everyone going on about Michael Jackson's death being responsible for the single's poor showing - rubbish, it didn't seem to stop Cascada did it....? To everyone who said that the fifth single off an album getting into Top 10 was unrealistic - That's more like the reason To everyone who voted that it would reach Top 10 despite it being the fifth single -   To everyone who seems to think this topic should be in the Sats AF - :???: :???:
July 13, 200915 yr To everyone who seems to think this topic should be in the Sats AF - :???: :???: Yeah, actually you're right, next time I will close and delete it ;) :heehee:
July 13, 200915 yr why is this a 'poor excuse' for a thread? it was a genuine question being asked in a civilised way I agree, nowt wrong with the thread... Well, apart from the fact that it's in the wrong place and should be back in the Pop Forum, because it's clearly a general discussion topic and not an OMG THE SATS ARE LIKE TOTALLY AMAZE, FTW <3 thread.....
July 13, 200915 yr Yeah, actually you're right, next time I will close and delete it ;) :heehee: No, just put it back where it should be..... You cant just stifle debate about an act on the site as a whole just because you dont like the tone dude.... :P This is kind of the trouble with having AFs I think.... You cant exactly do a critical thread on an AF, but if you post one on a general discussion Forum, some daft sod bounces it to the AF and then it ends up winding up the fanboys who immediately take umbrage and think the poster is just starting for the sake of it......

I'm sorry I can't and I don't want to. If not the Sats then the Pop Forum would be good for this thread but surely not the UK chart thread. And anyway the Sats fans would have found this thread. And thanks for calling me sod daft (without knowing me) :(
July 13, 200915 yr To everyone going on about Michael Jackson's death being responsible for the single's poor showing - rubbish, it didn't seem to stop Cascada did it....? All people have said is it would have been top 20 had he not died which is a fact.
July 13, 200915 yr And thanks for calling me sod daft (without knowing me) :( I was talking generally.... In any instance where a general discussion (ie, one which isn't exactly praising the act concerned..) thread is moved to an AF when it's not really the best idea, dont take it personal, didn't even know it was you that moved it tbh..... I mean, when I did that thread on Britney Spears miming at the O2, the Mods had the good sense to keep it in the Pop Forum and NOT move it to Britney Spears AF, which would've just been silly, you have to admit..... Well, similar story here I feel tbh....
July 13, 200915 yr Has every prediction you've ever made been correct? That wasn't my point. I'd never predict a song to go top 5 then, when it misses the top 20, say it would stuggle to make the top 20!
July 13, 200915 yr All people have said is it would have been top 20 had he not died which is a fact. Hmm, well, I'm sceptical even about Top 20 tbh, I certainly wouldn't call it a cast-iron fact... Fifth singles off an album tend to stiff, it's pointless even to do it when you consider the cost of the video, advertising, etc... Top 30, if you're lucky I reckon, at best.... And the majority of people in that vote said it would be a Top 10 hit mate, which is just plain unrealistic.....
July 13, 200915 yr I direct you to the second post i made in this thread They were ridiculous predictions anyway. A dull as dishwater FIFTH single was never going to reach the top 10 anyway. Looking at what people predicted was actually embrassing, RyRy is right when saying 'deluded loons'. And it wasn't a few fans, it was MOST!
July 13, 200915 yr the Sats fans would have found this thread. But you cant legitimately complain about a negative or critical thread in a General Forum (mind you, it doesn't stop some people from bitching I suppose...), whereas if someone does post a negative thread in an AF, you would have more cause for objection, because the AF is the Fan Zone, and the Pop Forum isn't.....

If he hadn't died, there wouldn't have been 5 MJ songs ahead of them in the charts that week and they would have been #17.
July 13, 200915 yr Looking back at the last 6 weeks of the charts, the Sats sales of 14,902 would have guaranteed them a position of 15-19, which would have been very reasonable. Work has so far sold 60,261. Not to be sneered at, at all.
July 13, 200915 yr Will probably end up on about 80K in the end. Not bad at all for a single that didn't reach the top 20! IFIL has done about 100K hasn't it? and that went Top 10 so ^_^
