July 14, 200916 yr Author The thread has nothing to do with the UK charts (in general), only the positions of the Saturdays, so it belongs to the Saturdays forum. Argument ended from my part :D PS: ...and I cba to edit and monitor the thread, so I leave this to the Sat mods :P i originally posted this in the pop forum, some idiot moved it incorrectly to the chart forum then equally incorrectly here. i posted it in the pop forum out of respect for the members on this forum, the fans, whom im content to leave their adoration in their own area...here... like i said, i want the option to be critical if i so desire or if the discussion requires it.
July 14, 200916 yr Can someone clarify for me- Like on Digital Spy, Appreciation threads are for that and that alone, but here are there rules where its said negative comments etc cant be posted? I see no reason why this thread shouldn't be here at the end of the day, its Saturdays related and there are people - fans - who can be objective and see the faults and have a discussion and accept the points as long as they put across constructively and not just coming across as hateful comments looking for an excuse to have a bitch.

Yeah I don't mind this here at all. It's nice to have some discussion and have both viewpoints.
July 14, 200916 yr Like I said in the BJ rate thread. Mindless slagging off is stupid and pointless. like calling the Saturdays bints for instance. but constructive criticism is good and has been seen in this AF before. Edited July 14, 200916 yr by Get Sexy Steve69
July 14, 200916 yr Since it looks like its staying ive edited the title so people arent confused between this and the general thread about the single. Im suprised to learn how much its sold considering the #22 peak. Very impressive.
July 14, 200916 yr Imo, this song underperformed. It's one of the best from the album and should have gotten the girls another top 10. Despite this, I wouldn't say it flopped. I wouldn't class #22 as a flop as it's nothing to be ashamed of.
July 15, 200915 yr It's just lack of interest from the public. The girls had already released 3 singles from the album, then releases "Just Can't Get Enough" and then "Chasing Lights" got re-released. The Sats obviously need some new material
July 18, 200915 yr I'm sorry you're 52 get a grip woman why dont you just go and listen to you're $h!t and let people enjoy what they want FLOP OR NOT!!!!!!
July 18, 200915 yr Work is not a flop...maybe if it had gone 22-45-75-OUT then id consider it a flop, but it hasnt done that and 60k (though i imagine its more now) is really good for a 5th single and a #22, theres been many more top 20's and top 10's that have sold less. I agree that it was released a lot later than it should have been, and CLEARLY michael jackson affected the single going higher.
July 19, 200915 yr I odnt think it is/was a flop it is in the charts for 6 weeks now and only for the michael jackson saales revival it would have easily gone top 20, it has sold decent enough and considering its the 5th single of reasonably siccessful album i think it has done quite well.
July 20, 200915 yr Author I'm sorry you're 52 get a grip woman why dont you just go and listen to you're $h!t and let people enjoy what they want FLOP OR NOT!!!!!! oh lord...this is a PERFECT example of why i originally posted this inoffensive thread in the pop forum, until some idiot chose to move it and another changed its title... <_< fanboys.... pratts.
July 20, 200915 yr You cant really call Jonnie a fanboy though can you, he barely posts in this forum. And what the hell was wrong with changing the title? It made perfect sense LOL
July 20, 200915 yr And what the hell was wrong with changing the title? It made perfect sense LOL Maybe because it now has capital letters in? :P

July 20, 200915 yr work has so far sold over 60,000 which is quite an achievemnet for a song that never mae the top 20.
July 24, 200915 yr it sounded more of a album track than a single i thought it would have gone higher since the album hasn't exactly sold loads.
July 24, 200915 yr I think 'Work' is undoubtedly a flop. It's the 5th single so they did well to get as far as they did with their Top 10 run, but there's no sugar-coating it, a non-Top 20 hit is never something a band wants. At the same time, I think with the download era we're going back to decades ago where a hit artist could have a string of number ones then follow it with a flop and maintain their career. A #22 hit today is nowhere near as much of a big deal as it was in 2005 for example.
