Part 1 has been described as a "road movie" by David Yates and Part 2 "as 'elegiac and operatic.'"

David Yates added: The film will be shot "with loads of hand-held cameras. I want to shake things up every time I go into this world. I like experimenting as we go along"

So far lots of the camping scenes have been shot, Shell Cottage, Room of Requirment senes, Ministry of Magic scenes and Malfoy Manor currently being filmed.

There are LOADS of pics, so I'll try post some.

Phew. :drama:

I'm not coming across as obsessed am I :kink:

SO EXCITED.

It'll be sad though. ;( The last film will really be the end of Harry Potter excitement / midnight things / etc.

Here Here! It's like something I've grown up with, and the end of the HP movies will kinda be it for HP itself. Unless Rowling decides to write another book, I'd love to read one about Harry's parents..

From wiki; "Heyman noted that the films will be a closer recreation of the books than the previous films because of the length a two-part adaptation entails." Wahey

Spoiler alert; Shell Cottage

Helena (Bellatrix Lestrange?) is at Shell Cottage when Hermione takes the polyjuice potion and transforms into her (which is why Ron is also dressed like that, he accompanies her).

Pics look fantastic! And similar to the novel to (esp the wedding). Altho, I hope that the Dobby scene is part of the Deathly Hallows II. If not, that would mean all the good shiz is happening in the 1st movie, unless they really want to drag on Gringotts & Battle Of Hogwarts throughout all of p.II ?

[i always thought a good place to end the first part would be when Ron leaves Harry & Hermione], but we'll just have to wait and see. :D Not long now! :heehee:

Oh your right of course...

I was thinking that was all after they get to Shell from Malfoy Manor..forget about leaving Shell Cottage :kink:

The splits a tough one to work out...

I do have a feeling it will be after Dobbys burial and them deciding what their plan is..then kick Part 2 off with Gringotts.

Theres so much though from Gingotts to Hogwarts that I can see it being the whole of Part 2. They are gonna do it justice :D

Oh and the epilogue - :puke2: - will be in, and feature the same cast, aging techniques obviously to be used but not the ones used in Ben. Button according to Yates.

Ill let this stay as its own topic for now as i merged the other one with the future film news topic since not much discussion. But if it stays as pictures and not much discussion ill be merging with the the previously mentioned topic.

Nicholas Hooper, who did the score for OOTP and HBP has cofirmed he is not returning.

Signs are all good for John Williams to return to finish the series though - they are just trying to sort out formalities now :cheer:

Producer talks about the final battle:

With the 2 parts that you’re filming now, what is the longest part of the shoot? Like what scene are you guys planning on spending the most time on?

HEYMAN: The final battle.

I’m a huge fan of the book. The ending of Book 7 is really climatic in so many ways. Is that going to be like a 20-minute part of the movie or a 30-minute part of the movie? Have you guys already started thinking about that?

HEYMAN: Absolutely. I mean we’ve got a script version of it. I think it’ll probably be 30 minutes, they get the Hogwarts fairly early on, but there’s a lot of build up before the battle happens, you know? And there are 2 parts to the battle. There’s the first part and then there’s the post-death of Harry part, if you know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean.

HEYMAN: Yeah, so in a way there’s a couple of different parts to that battle.

Well, it’s almost like the ending of Book 7 and the ending of movie 2-part 2 is almost like what people have been waiting for all the movies to see, which is the big, big showdown.

HEYMAN: It’s funny, yes I think that’s true and the showdown will be…that poses its own challenges in terms of adaptation. Not only the expectation of that final showdown but also what I love about Jo’s work is that’s it’s emotionally rooted. And in the book, actually, Harry doesn’t do much fighting back. In fact, he’s…I’m not going to use the word but he has the “blank” beaten out of him. I just said well, there’s more engagement in our version of the final battle.

I was going to ask you about that because that’s one of the things, to me, is amazing about the ending of that book is that Harry accepts his fate without knowing what’s going to happen. It can go either way, you know? And it’s sort of he’s…

HEYMAN: That’s true up until…when he’s reborn, Harry is aware that Voldemort is vulnerable and is a defeated man. And that’s something that we’re wrestling with and determining right now just so that it works in cinematic terms and not just on a…yeah that it works cinematically."

Some other bits from the interview:

* The tone of “Deathly Hallows Part 1″ is a road movie

and part 2 is “more operatic with the huge, great battle for Hogwarts.”

* They’re currently on Day 94 out of 250 on the “Deathly Hallows” shoot. The first 50 or 60 days were all for part 1 and now they’re shooting both films.

* The ending of part 2 is one of the last things they’re going to shoot. David also says he expects the ending battle to be around 30 minutes in the movie. He says the gang gets to Hogwarts early on and then they’re a lot of build up to the battle.

* They haven’t decided the length of part 1 and 2. But he expects it to be around 2 to 2 and a half hours per film.

* They haven’t decided if they’re going to put a trailer for part 2 at the end of part 1.

* Says an ultimate collector’s edition of all the films is being planned for down the road.

Really hope they do the final battle justice. Need to see more of the characters who die so their deaths have impact.
I really cannot wait! Deathy Hallows is my favourite book so I really hope the film's do it justice. The pictures look amazing and so accurate to the book, just as I imagined them when reading. :D
Woo they're finally getting it right! That would also mean for the Deathly Hallows, around 5 hours in total!

Stanislav Ianevski now confirmed to return as Krum.

And David Ryall has been cast as Original Order of the Phoenix member and long time friend of Albus Dumbledore, Elphias Doge.

All this now ahead of the filming of the Wedding scenes which are being shot in the coming weeks :cheer:

7 Potters is also about to be filmed according to sources.

Emma filmed some exterior shots in Golder's Green Park in London yesterday too. Not quite sure what for tbh.

Shes got the bag thing in her hand which has all their stuff in it I think

Hmm, wonder what that's about? I can't recall any solo "scenes" in the whole book apart when Harry walks to get the sword?..

:heehee: I think your going to see Half-Blood Prince!

I'm even more psyched now for DH after seeing HBP again.

What scene are people most looking forward to seeing in Part 1- presuming it ends at Shell Cottage...
