July 20, 200916 yr :heehee: I think your going to see Half-Blood Prince! I'm even more psyched now for DH after seeing HBP again. What scene are people most looking forward to seeing in Part 1- presuming it ends at Shell Cottage... The one I'll probably look forward to the most would be the first scene, The Seven Potters. It was such an.. "explosive" why to really kick off the book. Or if not, the Malfoys Mansion scene. Helena will be amazing in it!
July 22, 200916 yr Woop woop! Can't wait for this! Looks good :D Those pictures of Emma walking alone might be with Harry under the Invisibility Cloak perhaps? Shame Trelawney isn't returning, she's such a legend :( I think Part I will end with Dobby's death, which will be really poignant. I wonder whether they'll start the film with Dumbledore's funeral and go from there??
July 23, 200916 yr Author Three more random returning cast members confirmed: Joshua Herdman (Gregory Goyle) Louis Cordice (Blaise Zabini) Angelica Mandy (Gabrielle Delacour) Glad Gabrielle is coming back, really excited for the Wedding scenes! :D
July 24, 200916 yr Yeah, me too very much exited to watch it but i have read the book on this movie and it is really interesting and the film will be entertaining a lot.
July 24, 200916 yr Author David Yates speaking about DH 1/2. On Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: "It’s just edgier. It’s a little rawer. It’s more contemporary. It feels more modern. Shooting in the way we’ve been shooting, doing a lot of hand-held camera work, all that stuff, I’ve never got a call from the studio. They just phone up or email and say we love the dailies even though I am doing things that feel very not Harry Potter. So I feel I have a freedom and the elbowroom to do what I feel the story requires. So you’re hearkening back to your gritty days of State of Play? "Yeah, indeed. In Harry Potter Seven, part One, very much so. But, of course, Hallows part Two brings that fantasy world back in full cinemascope. It’s full of dragons, and big wizard battles, and magic. To keep the thing interesting for me as a filmmaker, I want to serve the wonderful stories Jo has given us but I need to move it around a bit. I can’t feel that I am making the same film. Tonally, I need to shake it up a bit. Like Half-Blood Prince had a lot more humor in it than Order of the Phoenix and that was important for me, and I think it was important for the audience to not get the same journey. And Hallows part One will feel very different than Half-Blood Prince." I love what he is saying about hand-held camera work! Cant wait to see what that is like!
July 24, 200916 yr Hmm don't really understand what he means (esp the 2nd paragraph) but hopefully it'll be good..
July 26, 200916 yr Author They've been filming some parts of 7 Potters - with Sirius' motorbike. Looks like its going to be made even more action packed than the book :cheer: It was extras filming these scenes in Dartford tunnel in Kent. http://hp4u.co.uk/Galleries/DeathlyHallows/24.July.2009/img_2883_w1200_h800.jpg http://hp4u.co.uk/Galleries/Dartford%20Tunnel,%20Kent.%2023rd%20July%202009%20(2).JPG http://hp4u.co.uk/Galleries/Dartford%20Tunnel,%20Kent.%2023rd%20July%202009%20(7).JPG http://hp4u.co.uk/Galleries/DeathlyHallows/24.July.2009/img_2921_w1200_h800.jpg http://hp4u.co.uk/Galleries/DeathlyHallows/24.July.2009/img_2974_w1200_h800.jpg
July 26, 200916 yr Author LOL i know :heehee: Very excited to see that whole sequence. The flying scenes will be fun to film I'm sure!
August 10, 200915 yr Author The fabulous Evanna Lynch has been talking about DH: which part of Deathly Hallows are you most excited about seeing turned into film? "I imagine everyone will say this-the walk through the woods and Platform nine and three quarters. It was such an experience to read, such a catharsis, I remember reading it for the first time and I felt like I could hardly keep up with my own eyes rushing across the pages. It will be so exciting to see how they translate that experience onto film, to see what someone else made of it. And of course the Lovegood house!! I have seen it being made from scratch and been in it and all around it and it is absolutely beautiful, much more vivid and detailed and alive than anything I could ever dream up even while reading the books. I hope they give it good screen time, it truly deserves it. I'm so excited just to see Mr.Lovegood in action. Luna has always been so different and jarring to those around her, it will be so nice to see someone with the same energy and hear his lines, you can't beat the Lovegoods for unpredictability." They are filming the wedding scenes this week - at the newly rebuilt Burrow :cheer:
August 10, 200915 yr I hear Rhys Ifans is in as Xenophilius Lovegood - not quite what I had in mind, but could be good.
August 10, 200915 yr Author He is indeed, I initially imagined Bill Nighy as him but I think Rufus will be great with Evanna.
August 12, 200915 yr Author Set report: Spoilers and word of a minor new additional scene:  While there, they were able to see some of the fabulous sets used in past Harry Potter films as well as see the new ones and learn more details about the upcoming Deathly Hallows. While you can read the very lengthy and wonderful report of the various sets at this link, notable was confirmation that yes indeed Bill and Fleur's wedding scenes are being recorded all this week, complete with one of the Weasleys wearing a bandage over his ear and Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) was seen sporting prosthetic scars on the left side of his face. Exciting too is news that the double for Xenophilius Lovegood was wearing "mustard colored corduroys, a pale shirt with a yellow waist coat over the top that was covered in flowers and shoulder length blondish-white hair." Also of interest to fans are the following: Scenes with 'lots of Goblins' are about to be filmed; prop of Aragog is being used as model for bigger larger spiders in DH (presumably for Battle of Hogwarts); part of the Seven Potters is being filmed on the Privet Drive set at Leavesden; Grimmauld Place set, currently used as Baker Street for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes film is being repainted for use again in DH; the Lovegood house set complete with Dirigible plums (bright orange plants) growing outside, is built with a stone base with "the right side of the house pitted with holes where Death Eater spells had hit (squib explosions)" ; Giant hedges(15 feet tall or more) and two large, stone pillars flanking either side of the entrance adorn the extorior of one of the Malfoy Manor sets; there is an Animatronic Hog's head that is used in front of the pub and the Room of Requirement filming is also underway, with two doubles recently who "were perched atop one of the stacks of furniture and rigged into a harness." (probably for the Flight/Fyrefiend squence). Finally of particular interest is word that there is another new attack sequence, minor and not contained in the book by J.K. Rowling, has been added to the film to showcase the ongoing war. The report says "It appeared to be a bunch of burned trailers / mobile homes. Apparently in this scene, Harry and Hermione show up at this camp site only to find that the Death Eaters have already attacked and destroyed some of the trailers."
August 12, 200915 yr Ooh, should be interesting, especially since he's so much younger than Gambon and yet Aberforth was only a few years younger than Albus. Ta!
