Posted July 20, 200915 yr Cheryl Cole assists 'nervous' Dixon Sunday, July 19 2009, 18:28 BST By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter Rex Features Cheryl Cole has been offering advice to Alesha Dixon following the star's appointment as a Strictly Come Dancing judge, a report claims. The X Factor panellist is said to be helping Dixon after hearing that she is "stricken with nerves" about her new post, which was first announced by the BBC earlier this month. A source told the Daily Star Sunday: "One of the first people Alesha talked to when she was offered the Strictly job was Cheryl. They are really close friends and Cheryl has been there and done it, so she's the perfect person to give advice." The decision to recruit Dixon, 30, in place of axed judge Arlene Phillips, 66, has been strongly criticised in recent days, with some viewers and commentators accusing the BBC of ageism. The insider added: "Cheryl replaced an older star on The X Factor when she took over from Sharon Osbourne, so she knows what that pressure is like. "But Simon [Cowell] won't be pleased if he finds out, especially as the two shows will be going head to head in the ratings this autumn." July 20, 200915 yr Author ya without make up she definitly looks her age and more, i just rembered that alesha and cheryl would have also got to know each other well when they dont the climb for comic relief,i read todatthat simon cowell isnt happy about cheryl helping alesha as they are rival shows that will be aired at the same time,i like alesha but i hate strictly come dancing and i think both shows have very differnt audiences so i cant see simon been too bothered about cheryl and alesha.

They've been friends for ages, remember the tv show alesha did where she did a magazine front cover without airbrushing and how people shouldn't believe what they see? she met with cheryl in that tv show as she was her friend.. ages before that comic relief climb
