Nelly Furtado is coming next week, right Ben? Nope sadly. In two weeks time. Next week I can see only Green Day - 21 Guns as a bigger hit, no one else, so another boring week :(

August 3, 200915 yr Yan's German chart comments - issue date 31.07 Once again a slow singles chart in Germany and not much going on in the top 10. Still Emilliana Torini is the number one queen, staying there for what is now a fifth consecutive week. The Iceland singer is once again followed by Cassandra Steen, while David Guetta rebounds one place to #3. Further down the top 10, Lady Gaga rises a place to #7 with "LoveGame", which perhaps soon will outperform the refusing-to-die "Poker Face". The latter is for a second week at #6. Despite the relatively low entry at #28, Marquess manage to jump to #16 this week, thus at least having a top 20 hit for yet another summer. As last week there are no new entries in the top 30 but still several singles manage to penetrate it, perhaps due to the slow, but inevitable withdrawal of Michael Jackson songs. So, Reamonn jump 29-19, Clueso 35-21, Peter Fox 32-22, Lenka 36-23 and Silbermond 39-27. At #31 we can find Tim Toupet (he is a hairstylist!) returning to the chart with his party anthem "So ein schöner Tag" and seeing other similar songs entering the top 100 (Markus Becker - 53; Mickie Krause - 67), we can be sure the holiday fever is taking its toll on the German singles countdown. Let the crazy dances begin! The biggest proper new entry comes in at #39 from Sean Paul, whose "So Fine" for now fails to have the impact as one of his biggest hits, including "Get Busy" and "We Be Burnin'". The pilot singer of Jordin Sparks' second album may be a great song, but still enters the chart at only #40. Far from the #10 peak of "No Air"... She will struggle to have a music career in Germany if you ask me...
