Will set to release 'The Hits'

Special announcement for all fans! ...

This November sees Will release his first ever hits compilation... fittingly titled, 'The Hits'!

Ever since his debut single 'Evergreen' became the fastest selling debut

of all time (and it remains the biggest selling single this decade), Will has

been redefining the parameters of pop stardom with a catalogue of classic

pop songs.

Now 'The Hits' album features all of your favourite songs from Will's four

consecutive platinum albums - plus two bonus tracks - on one CD for the

very first time!

1. Evergreen

2. Light My Fire

3. You And I

4. Leave Right Now

5. Your Game

6. Friday's Child

7. Switch It On

8. All Time Love

9. Who Am I

10. Changes

11. Grace

12. Let It Go

13. Bonus Track 1

14. Bonus Track 2

The new album will be released on 16th November.

Thanks TT.

I'm going to be really died in the wool, and say I'm not too sure about it. Presumably this will be the last album on his present Contract.

Having done my months of moaning about this now it's fact i've stopped.

New tracks...new video..lots of Will around. bonus.

I would of perfered AIP as well but it was Evergreen that was the seller really... shame.

Brilliant news and great to have it finally confirmed

No 'Anything is possible' 'Don't let me down' 'Long and winding road'

Can't wait to hear the new tracks

We were never going to get a new studio album this year so I'll make do with this one. So looking forward to the 2 new tracks & the promo that goes with them.

We coud get a new album next year.

If the new single is released about the 1st/9th nov and it is usually sent to radio about 6 weeks before...we should be hearing it in about 6/7 weeks :o

I hope whoever he signs his next contract with, whether it's Sony or a new label, they'll want to get a new album out as soon as possible, so fingers crossed for something within the next 18 months.

I would've thought if we're going to get a GH so early in his career it would've included ALL of his hits  But I will still probably buy this as I do love a bit of Will  And the 3 missing aren't great anyway, although The Long and Winding Road and Anything Is Possible are good.

I agree Marguerite. This seems like a standard end-of-contract album. Unlike lots of others Will hasn't released practically all his album tracks as singles so I expect Sony were hard-pressed to find enough to put on a GH album.

Some wise-spark has commented spitefully on Twitter "first signs of a flagging career perhaps". Why is it that others do it and sometimes more than once - without sarky comments - but Will gets spiteful remarks. :(

I would have been more than a bit annoyed if LAWR were on there - it was enough that it was done, without reminding people of it

Don't Let Me Down was the official Children in Need song so I doubt that would be included.

Re Anything is Possible. Even though it was the double 'A' side I don't recall it being played on the radio - even though, imho, it was the better song of the two and the video for it was superior and deserves equal billing, even though Will didn't rate them, saying he went a long way and a lot of money was spent on them for, in his opinion, pretty poor vids. :P

I'm really eager to hear the two new tracks and really hope he re-records Evergreen. His 2004 Friday's Child tour version was great - a whole new feel and it sounded like an entirely different song for it.

(and it remains the biggest selling single this decade),

Ane he may well take it into the next too ;)

P.S. I'm sure I replied to this thread this morning

I think this will sell brillantly. and to think if we get another new one next year we would of had three years of Will :o :w00t:

I wonder if Sony have him all signed up already?

Nah, if he's career was flagging he'd be rejoining the This Morning boy band wouldn't he?

I'm happy enough with the tracklisting and thank god LAWR isn't on it, hated that bloody duet with "the golden child" as he was way back then. :naughty: I see it's called "The Hits", so I guess in a few years time we might get a "More Hits" album from Will? Can't wait to hear the new tracks and more info about the release, cover etc.

Will Young has announced the release of his first greatest hits compilation. The 30 year old is the only British male artist of the decade to have 4 consecutive platinum albums LRN, YG and all Wills classics will be sandwiched in the package out November 16th

:cheer: :cheer: Yaboo sucks to all the doubters. :P

Thanks sunday.

Julie over on D has found a blog here - but I have a feeling he may end up eating his words on the time-lapse for his next album ;)

I cant see this doing that well to be honest. I think its too premature to be releasing a greatest hits. He just doesnt have enough material for one. Look at other artists like Christina Aguilera and Anastacia who released greatest hits sets quite quickly - these didnt do great.
