Posted August 4, 200916 yr This is the cardsleeve disc that ended up being a premium if a person that bought the SHM CDs sent in the red triangles (their form of proof of purchase, I'm assuming) There are five CDs (And Winter Came, The Memory of Trees, Watermark, Shepherd Moons, The Celts) Relating thread: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...40&start=40 About SHM format: SHM-CD, or Super High Material CD, is an improved version of the Compact Disc material that uses super quality, enhanced transparency polycarbonate material developed for use in LCD screens. They will play in any CD player. Universal Music Japan and JVC co-developed the SHM-CD. They report that the new material allows the pits to be formed more precisely plus eliminates laser splatter. The signal characteristics are improved as a result with overall lower distortion and better musicality. August 5, 200916 yr So is this essentially Orinoco Flow, Smaointe and Out of the Blue in high quality or is that just on the remastered albums you get the good quality? I still need to get that Watermark one tbh... it wasn't a limited release or anything was it?
August 5, 200916 yr Author I have yet to listen to the promo CD to compare the sound quality, but as far as I know, the best quality sound is on the SHM discs. I think it was said that the SHMs were for a limited time, but I believe they are still available.
August 6, 200916 yr Author Hmm.. perhaps I should start collecting Enya stuff... Be careful, it's addicting!
August 7, 200916 yr My extremely obsessive-compulsive personality is up for it, I think... Where should I start?
August 7, 200916 yr I'm guessing you already have the studio albums, Amy??? Maybe, if you'd like, start with a particular single you like, and, go from there....I know a lot of the singles have official releases from different countries....since I have a few Orinoco Flow from different countries...I also have Storms In Africa from different countries, as well as Exile.... Like I say, it just depends what you might want to start with.....
August 7, 200916 yr Yes, I have the studio albums... thank you for the suggestion- my favourite single is 'Evening Falls' so I think I will start there.
August 7, 200916 yr If you feel brave and daring, check out eBay, look under Enya cds, and, there's a way to check out the worldwide offerings....along the margin to the left, part way down, you'll see worldwide, click on worldwide, and you'll see all kinds of cds offered...albums, soundtracks, cd singles.....and, for some unknown reason, Enya tribute cds....just so you know, you'll have to be a registered member of eBay, and, more often than not, set up a paypal account, in order to bid on anything at eBay...since most sellers on eBay only accept payment from eBay....although, I have seen some sellers from the UK who will accept cheques drawn on a UK bank....
