Posted August 7, 200915 yr Cheryl Cole 'desperate' for Barlow ballad Friday, August 7 2009, 09:48 BST By David Balls, Music Reporter Rex Features Cheryl Cole is reportedly "desperate" for Gary Barlow to write a ballad for her debut solo album. According to New magazine, the Girls Aloud star asked Barlow to pen her a song while the pair were climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief earlier this year. Cole has already secured the help of Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am and Taio Cruz for her solo offering, which is expected to be released later this year. Barlow has yet to confirm the reports, but told the publication: "Cheryl's great. She's fun, feisty and knows her stuff!" The 26-year-old has notched up twenty-one Top 10 singles since securing a place in Girls Aloud, including her collaboration with will.i.am on 'Heartbreaker' last year. Barlow has previously written songs for Delta Goodrem, Blue, Charlotte Church, John Barrowman and H & Claire.N Edited August 12, 200915 yr by Feel_The_Fever
August 7, 200915 yr I don't think anything will come of this. I think he should just stick to Take That stuff - although its nice Cheryl thinks so highly of him. I like the stuff he's written for Delta and Charlotte (and one beautiful one he wrote for Katherine Jenkins) I also like that song he did for Blue ... but if his stuff is going to be anything like that awful tune he wrote for John Barrowman - I wish he'd just stop! Personally - I wish he'd get back to writing with Eliot Kennedy! The two of them work great together. I am intrigued though (although it pains me to say) by what Gary & Rob could come up with together. I didn't say that did I??? Norma
August 7, 200915 yr Author Been honest i think the only songs gary would give away these days are songs he feels arent good enough for take that, so i suppose in a way im saying he might give her a left over!! It is great she regards him so high and chances are it would do well if it happened and was a single as cheryls; profile is very high so he would make a few quid from it, as for robbie and gary working together i doubt it would be great as robbie isnt a great song writer so gary would be left with all the work and robbie would take the praise.
August 7, 200915 yr ... as for robbie and gary working together i doubt it would be great as robbie isnt a great song writer so gary would be left with all the work and robbie would take the praise. I've got to admit (if he does write them) I do find some of Rob's lyrics interesting - when he's laying off the 'woe-is-me' train - and if I'm honest - although Gary writes good tunes ... I do think his lyrics have been a weak point. From the early days - only the lyrics to Never Forget and Back For Good really strike a chord with me. Having said that having listened to Take That And Party, GGF and Do What You Like ... there is a certain naive/naughtiness there that I find endearing! Norma
August 7, 200915 yr So...it comes out...Norma likes naive/naughty/cheeky stuff....
August 7, 200915 yr So...it comes out...Norma likes naive/naughty/cheeky stuff....  Well I don't mind! But Gary was doing it nearly 20 years ago! I still think if Rob & Gary got their heads together there'd be some good stuff coming out. Rob the lyricist and Gary the melodist. Norma
August 8, 200915 yr Author If they worote together all i will say is it could and i stress could be interesting!
August 9, 200915 yr Back on subject though ... I wish he'd just stick to writing with and for Take That. Its all this 'bigging up' I hate. They're only doing it to crash him down like last time! Besides ... the song he wrote for Barrowman was dreadful ... and I don't want to think about H and Claire! Norma
August 9, 200915 yr It is typical for the music world to use a name of someone, who happens to have success at the moment, to make publicity for his / hers own album. That is what i hate: in the times when TT where not reunited only Mark spoked openly about working with Gary (but they were collegues in TT , so it was other as for other singers). All the other kind of didn't say anything. They used the songs but that was. Now, that Gary is well known once again, everybody is his friend and want a part of him. Typical example Posh Spice :puke2: . I hope Gary takes everything with a big big portion of salt and knows that they use only his image and how many of them would be hos friends if he will have not anymore success  .
August 9, 200915 yr Author This is very true as it wasnt so long agao when it was almost shameful to say he had wrote a song for you and now its like how lucky are you that gary gave you a song,it shows how fickle the world of celebrity is and how the press and go from positive to negative in such a quick manner.
August 12, 200915 yr Author Scherzinger 'wants Barlow to pen tracks' Wednesday, August 12 2009, 11:34 BST By Mayer Nissim, Entertainment Reporter Rex Features Nicole Scherzinger wants Take That songwriter Gary Barlow to pen a number of tracks for a planned album, it has been claimed. Despite conflicting reports over the future of her group Pussycat Dolls, Scherzinger is said to be interested in relaunching her solo career. A source told The Sun: "Nicole believes that everything Gary puts his hand to is amazing. She is convinced he can provide the hit she needs." Last week, it was claimed that Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole is "desperate" for Barlow to write a ballad for inclusion on her own planned solo album.
August 12, 200915 yr I wonder if Gary himself has been forwarded any of these requests? I expect its all news to him! I think now that Take That are taking a break for a year or so ... they should ask someone else. Having said that ... I expect these stories are news to Cheryl and Nicole too! Norma
August 12, 200915 yr Author if gary did write for nicole it would be a nice way of getting his name out there in america aswell,i know its all probably false but if it did happen it could gain hugely from it.
